CHAPTER XX pt. 2: 20 hours

"Yeobo!" Mom called out "walk faster can you?!"

"Wait! Parking the car requires great effort" Dad retorted while setting his keys securely in his pockets

"Now that's dad here, Let's take a picture to cherish this day!" I suggested and they were pretty enthusiastic at the idea as well

"Let's do that my star" Mom kissed my head as we prepared for the picture which a stranger took at us since dad asked him for a favor

I felt my stomach crumble and I'm sure mom and dad heard it

"Come on let's get something to fill that stomach of yours first before we take the hike" Dad carried me and went towards a bakeshop.

"Everything looks so tasty" I said drooling over the pastries laid in front of me. If it wasn't for the glass container it was all in, I already had my face snuggled over it

"What do you want star? It's like you're going to stay here for 20 hours before you finally choose" Mom asked me while giggling probably because my state is really funny

"I want that one!" I finally chose something after all the debate my stomach and mind went through. "The white one"

"We will take 3 of the white cookie" Dad said to the cashier

"The snowflake one sir?" The lady cleared out and dad nodded

"Here you go star" Dad gave me the bread which I get immediately and stuff it in my mouth

"Diz ish soooo guuud!" I felt like I was on cloud 9

Mom and dad just laughed at me lovingly. I'm glad I can make them laugh do genuinely

"Let's go now?" Dad initiated and we all walk and hiked the mountain happily

I don't want this day to end
This genuine happiness... I hope it doesn't end

---the next day---

"Goodluck on your finals today honey!" Mom cheered as I rushed to my school

"I will mom! I'll make you proud!"

--later that day---

"Mom! Dad! Im home!" I rushed towards their room holding my perfect final exam excited to see what their reaction will be

But, as I went nearer to their room..
I heard weird laughter that I never heard before...

And looking inside their room was the most...painful sight that I can ever see...

My mom...killed by my... Father....

That's it...
The memories came clear to my mind again...
Making me remember what happened...
It came back..

The pain
The anger
The sadness

It all came back...

My heart felt like its more broken that before.. But I can't get myself to cry... No tears were falling.. Nothing..

And this is the worst..

"Eunbyeol here" JungKook offered me the same signature snowflake bread... "They said it was the most popular"

He handed me the bread but, I can't take it

If he just knew what that bread means to me....
If he just knew what this place does to me....

But, he doesn't...
He doesn't have any clue about what I feel right now...
Not a single idea about the pain that this gimmick caused me

Because I...

"Thank you JungKook. I appreciate it very much" I got the bread from him and ate it happily the same way as he did

Dealt with the pain with a smile on my face
