When I got home I went into my room and started on my home work when I got a call.
"Hello." I said into the phone
"Hanna! Where are you? Shelty's going crazy here!" my running buddy Margaret said into the phone
"Oh my gosh I totally forgot about cross country practice!" I said, realizing why she had called
"Well what do I tell her? And also how could you forget?!? We've had it since August!"
"I dunno how I forgot and as for Shelty, tell her I went home sick or something." I told her. Shelty's our very loud and very scary coach. She 5'9, skinny and the loudest person you'll ever meet.
"Ok but she's not going to be happy, we have that meet on Friday." Margret responded
"I know, it's fine. I'll deal with her tomorrow." I said as I absently doodled on my homework.
"Well have fun with that. I got to go, practice is almost starting."
"K. Bye, have fun."
"I will. Bye." she hung up and I started back up on my homework. I didn't understand why we had to learn all of this, it wasn't like I would have to ever use it in life or anything. I was getting bored so I decided to call Sephira.
"Hey gurl, what's up?" she said when she picked up.
"Nothin much, how 'bout you?"
"Ehhhh. Still taking in the news about Ellie." She said sadly. She and Ellie had been close friends since kindergarten.
"Yeah it sucks."
"Well there's nothing that we can do about except act normal around her."
"I know. It's terrible knowing you can't do anything about it while its staring you straight in your face."
"Yeah. I hate it already."
"I've decided," I said suddenly "that when she goes through chemo and loses all her hair I'm going to shave my head so I'll be bald with her."
"That's so sweet! I might do that too but you know how much I love my hair." I laughed. Sephira wasn't just proud of her hair, she was in love with it. She took super special care of it and even brushed it during class.
"Yeah, I think we all do."
"Well, on to important matters, have you met any new hot guys yet?"
"Well almost all of these guys we went to middle school with so not a lot of new hot guys but plenty of old ones."
"Ooooooo, so do you still like Jesse?"
"I don't know. He was a big dick on the bus but he was sweet earlier." I said, thinking
"What did he say?" she asked curiously
"We earlier he was comforting me about Ellie's cancer but then on the bus he told me that he thought I was a wannabe everything."
"Woah. That's a dicky move." She said
"I know."
"I think you should give him a second chance." she said seriously
"Wait, why?"
"He's might have be a really nice guy who just made a really dumb move." she said simply
"Ok. I'll give him another chance but first I should probably give my homework another chance."
"Homework on the first day sucks. Luckily it's only surveys about yourself."
"Yeah, we'll got to go. See you tomorrow in third hour."
"Yeah bye." I hung up and pulled my school iPad out and clicked on my homework. All of the homework pages that I had were about me and what I did over the summer, not really real homework except for the one in English which was write a 300 page essay on what you did over the summer.
About an hour later I was done with everything and my brothers were getting home. Eli from 5th grade and Joey from soccer after 7th grade.
"Hey bros, how's it going?" I asked as I prepared our favorite snack, bananas rolled in a tortilla with peanut butter on it.
"Good, soccer was awesome, coach said I have a good chance of making varsity next year!" Joey said excitedly
"Really! Wow that's awesome dude!" I responded, just as happy "How about you Eli."
"Well my teacher said I'm doing really well in reading and math already and I've got a lot of friends."
"That's awesome bud!" I said enthusiastically. My brothers were both popular. Joey because he was a jock and totally hot, according to the girls in his grade and he wasn't a big jerk like a lot of guys. Eli was popular because he was so sweet. He was nice to everyone no matter what.
"Well guys, you guys have work to do, right?"
"Ugh, yeah. I have this survey thingy to do for each class. Middle schools hard." Joey groaned.
"And I have to read a book over the week but I think I'll read it all tonight to get it out of the way." Eli said, thinking
"Ok. Go guys. The sooner you're done the sober u can watch TV." I said and went to my room.
My room is the biggest room in the house but not amazingly huge. It's a light blue color with a mural on one of the walls.
I sat down on my bed, opened Netflix on my iPad and started watching Pretty Little Liars.
"Oh my gosh." I said, finishing the last episode in season 6
*a little party never killed nobody. We gonna dance until we drop.* my phone sang, signaling that I had a message. I turned my phone down to vibrate and checked the message seeing that it was from a number that wasn't in my contacts.
"Hey, I'm rly sorry about earlier."
I left it, thinking it was a wrong number when I heard it buzz.
"It's Jesse btw."
I sighed.
"What do you want?"
"To apologize."
"How did you get my number?"
"Not telling till you forgive me." I groaned. Why did he have to be so annoying.
"Fine I forgive you."
"Yay! :)"
"Now where did you get my number!?"
"One of ur friends gave it to me. Any other questions?"
"Yes actually."
"What."
"Y do u care so much to apologize?"
"Bc I don't like ppl being mad at me."
"I wasn't mad. I ws just upset."
"Well I also don't like beautiful being upset bc of me."
"Stop flirting. I'm not beautiful. I think uv mixed me up with another person unless this is a dare."
I turned off my phone and went back to work and eventually went to sleep forgetting to eat dinner
