TOGETHER, DIANA AND STEVE had stormed the headquarters. Steve rode below on his motorbike as Diana flew over head, making it through the entrance of the HYDRA base. The two fought side by side until they were descended upon by dozens upon dozens of HYDRA soldiers. But it was of no hindrance to them, it was all part of their plan.

Restrained, they were immediately brought to Red Skulls lab and placed on their knees in front of the inhuman. His face was unrecognisable, his form certainly not what Diana would've thought.

"Arrogance may not be a uniquely American trait, but I must say you do it better than anyone. But there are limits to what even you can do, Captain." The creature hissed towards Steve who remained calmly restrained. "And especially you, Diana." His voice sounded, making her head lift upwards. "If even Zeus could not defeat me, what made you think you could? You wounded me, but I came back stronger than ever, of course after reconstructing a new body."

Her eyes narrowed before widening with realisation. "Ares." Diana greeted with a cold whisper.

"Sister." He muttered lovelessly. "Playing the peacemaker last war brought a less desirable outcome than I could've hoped for. Fortunately, the role I'm playing now is much more fun." He smirked over to the Princess whose face scrunched up with anger.

His eyes flickered back over to Steve. "Dr Erksine was my greatest helper yet, and still, he betrayed me— like my influence was useless. And he gave you, Captain America, everything." Ares leaned closer to Steve, eyes scrutinising. "What makes you so special?"

Steve stared up at him with clear defiance. "Nothing. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn." He spoke, provoking Red Skull. He punched Steve right across the face, and then once again in the stomach.

Diana clenched her first, but kept herself still.

"Oh yeah," Steve began, blood dripping from his mouth. "I can do this all day." He muttered, spitting it out to the side.

"Oh, of course you can." He spoke, stepping back. "Of course. But unfortunately I am on a tight schedule." Red skull-- Ares replied pulling out a cube-energy pistol.

"So are we." Diana chimed in, eyes moving past him. Ares looked over confused, as the team crashed through the glass window.

Diana and Steve fought the guards that held them as Ares ran.

James threw Steve his shield and Diana's hers allowing them to begin their chase.

Red Skull fired shots at Diana and Steve as they ran after him. He raced through a door that began to close, but Steve threw his shield just in time to stop it.
