"Goodmorning, Mommy!" A mop of messy black hair jogged down the flight of stairs to his mom who waited by the gate-like doors. A childish aura surrounded him as he held a tight grip on his new Mike Wazowski backpack.

"Hoseok, behave in school and I beg of you to drop the foolish antics once you arrive there." His mother said with a scolding tone, completely ignoring the greeting. Her deep blue eyes looking down at the 8 year old's excitement filled brown ones. The boy nodded.

"And try to avoid looking up as much as possible."

He nodded again. Although he didn't understand why he had to do so, he never questioned it.

"The driver is here, Mrs.Jung." The head maid announced from outside the door. She caught a glimpse of Hoseok's tiny figure and let out a pitied sigh.

"You may be dismissed." Hoseok's mother stated, patting her blazer down to fix any wrinkles that never seemed to exist in the first place. The maid quickly shuffled inside the house and disappeared into the kitchen.

"You're not coming to drop me off for my first day?" The little boy pouted, shuffling his feet to distract his mind from saddening.

"You wanted to go to a real school and I let you, believing you're old enough to take care of yourself. There is no reason for me to be there."

"O-okay."

"Go now. You'll be late."

"Yes, Mommy." Hoseok mumbled before running out to the car, not bothering to give her a hug because his mother would only push him away, saying 'showing affection will lead you nowhere in life'. He didn't believe it but he didn't want to madden her so he would simply agree.

"He better not shame our family name." The tiny ravenette heard his mother say to herself before he got in the backseat and buckled his seatbelt when the driver told him to. Swaying back and forth, he decided not to let his mother's netagitivity ruin his mood.

He's finally able to attend school after being homeschooled from preschool to third grade. There's no reason for him to be down. After begging his mother to let him go out in the real world and socialize with other kids, she finally gave in even if she was hesitant at first.

As the car drove in accordance to the speed limit, Hoseok couldn't help but excite himself even more every time he thought about making new friends. He's never had friends. Never had the chance to make any. But now he did.

The school slowly came into view and the boy bounced in his seat while the car proceeded to come to a halt. Once it stopped, he said a quick thank you to the driver and opened the car door, hopping the short distance to the ground that his short legs wouldn't let him reach. He closed the door and gripped both straps of his backpack as he looked up at the brick building in front of him.

It looked just like it did in movies, the roof formed an upside down V like a kid would sketch on paper if they were told to draw a house, the windows tinted so no outsiders could see through the walls, and the colors consisting of creamy white and maroon from the bricks. He was so busy admiring his soon to be second home that he didn't notice the woman walking to him. Her gaze dropped to the little boy and her bright blue eyes seemed to widen in shock before going back to normal despite now being filled with pity. The wide smile that she wore had faltered a bit but she quickly recovered and displayed an equally as wide one.

Hoseok noticed that people always had the same reaction when meeting him for the first time. It made him think that something was wrong with him but no one was ever there to tell him other wise so he decided to tell himself that nothing was wrong.

"You must be Jung Hoseok?" The lady questioned and he nodded his head as an answer. "Nice to meet you." She extended her hand and he took it without hesitation with his own small, chubby one.

It turned out that she was the principal and his mother requested for her to show the boy around the campus. And that was what she did.

They roamed around the halls, the lady explaining where things were and where the cafeteria was before they stopped in front of a classroom. Children laughing and talking could be heard from the outside and Hoseok smiled to himself, thinking about how many friends he's going to make.

Opening the door, the principal ushered him in the room and the class fell silent when they saw the boy walking to the front with his head down. When he looked up, some kids gasped while others gave him a questioning look.

"Class this is your new classmate and I hope you treat him like one of your peers." The principal announced before looking at the boy, signaling him to introduce himself.

"Hi guys! My name's Jung Hoseok!" He beamed and a hand raised from one of the desks. The teacher called on the raised hand and the boy stood up from his seat.

"Why are your eyes poop colored?" He questioned, making the class burst in a fit of laughter. The principal quickly told them to settle down and the teacher scolded the student. "Sehun, that's not very nice."

"I was just asking." The kid, Sehun, mumbled under his breath before taking a seat.

Hoseok's cheeks were red from embarrassment of being laughed at. He glanced around the room to see that the whole class was consisted of vibrant blue eyes, even the teacher and principal. Why did no one else have brown eyes?

Insecurities started to bubble up in him when he walked to his seat at the back of the room where the teacher sent him. He could hear all the whispers and snickers that the students exchanged as he passed by them to get to his assigned desk.

"Why doesn't he have blue eyes?"

"Is he broken or something?"

"Brown eyes are so ugly."

The raven haired boy coward in his seat, trying his best to ignore his peers while he let his good mood slowly slip away.

That was the day Hoseok realized that brown eyes weren't society's favorite.

And the day he realized that making friends wasn't going to be so easy.
