The brown-eyed boy woke up later than he usually did on a regular day. It might have been caused by the weekend or his thoughts that kept him up most of the night.

His anxiety took over himself as he thought of all the different scenarios that could happen during the day ahead with Yoongi which caused him valuable sleep.

He groaned as he stretched his limbs, looking at the digital clock on his night stand, only to widen his eyes at the projected time.

"Shit shit shit." He cursed, climbing out of bed and rushing to his closet. He only had half an hour to get ready and head to the park where Yoongi told him to meet up.

"If you're even a minute late then I'm leaving." Yoongi had coldly said before they dropped Hoseok off.

It was a good thing he already picked out what to wear before he went to bed last night, saving him a bit more time as he slipped on the dark joggers, a loose black shirt, and his favorite Balenciaga shoes. The older specifically told him not to dress up because it would attract more attention that he already didn't want. Hoseok didn't think twice to agree.

In the bathroom, he did his usual routine a little quicker yet more careful than usual since he was running out of time and he already wore his clothes. Grabbing his contact lenses case and solution, he held his eyes open one at a time to insert the blue lenses that would hide his shame and imperfection.

The boy rushed out of the house to the car that should have already been there waiting for him. But it wasn't.

"W-where's Jackson-sshi?" Hoseok frustratedly questioned himself only for the head maid to answer from behind him, startling the high schooler.

"Your mother asked him to drive her somewhere." She said before walking away.

She knew I needed a ride. Hoseok thought to himself angrily.

Without wasting any more time, he started running the mile distance from his parents' house to the park.

"Where the fuck is he?" Yoongi annoyedly mumbled, impatience clear due to the shaking of his leg as he sat on a bench at the far end of the park. Cursing Hoseok, he decided to stand up and leave, only for the said boy to come running seconds later.

The boy hunched down in exhaustion, hands on his knees to keep him from passing out. He was never much of a runner after all.

"You're late." The mint head spoke in a monotoned manner, looking at a group of children playing on the grass instead of the younger in front of him.

"I-I'm sorry. I had to run... here... my mother took our driver-" Hoseok tried his best to talk in the middle of catching his breath but Yoongi clearly didn't appreciate his effort.

"Shut up. I don't care. Don't be late again." The boy nodded, looking up at the older who finally met eyes with the disguised brown ones. "Why the fuck are you wearing those?"

Hoseok shrunk a bit from the words, looking back down to hide the blue contacts.

"I already know you have brown eyes so what's the point in hiding them? Makes you seem fak-"

"I wear them to make myself feel better." Hoseok was the one to cut him off this time. "And right now I'm wearing them for your benefit. So your i-image wouldn't be ruined if people saw you walking around with a... a 'brownie'." It hurt to call his own self a name that's known to put him down but it was the truth.

Yoongi looked at him, a bit taken aback by the reasoning but refused to show any signs of emotion as he hummed in response, walking off.

"We're going to a restaurant. My mom's making me pay for both of us." He grumbled, sensing the presence of the taller next to him who finally caught up.

They waited for their food in awkward silence; Hoseok nibbling on a breadstick while Yoongi busied himself by examining the silverware.

After what seemed like an eternity, their meals arrived. Hoseok thanked the waiter, not letting his eyes leave the food in front of him as he immediately dug in. The older couldn't help but stare at how the younger quietly enjoyed his food. He soon did the same, cutting a piece of steak from his plate and chewing on it.

"You know you can talk right?" The mint head spoke after a while, his gaze on the food that he was cutting instead of the boy. Hoseok was a bit startled by the sudden question.

"I didn't think you'd want me to." He admitted, using his fork to play with the mashed potato in his plate.

"Well now I'm telling you that it's fine to." Yoongi nonchalantly told him, taking another bite of the steak.

"U-um..." He didn't know what to say. It wasn't just because of Yoongi but because he never had anyone to talk to in general, resulting in his poor communication skills. "Y-you and Jimin look nice together."

The older hummed. "Sucks we have to break up for the wedding." There was a hint of bitterness in his tone that Hoseok didn't fail to spot.

"I-I'm sorry."

"Can you stop apologizing? Can't you see that it just makes people want to stomp all over you when you show them how weak you are." Yoongi snapped at him, scaring the younger who shrunk in his seat. The older took a deep breath to calm himself before finishing his meal.

It was awkward again, not that it never was but this time they fell back into silence. Hoseok looked around at the other tables, waiters come and go as they served and took orders from the customers. Everyone conversed with the person or people that they came with. Almost all of them looked content with their lives just from their facial expressions. Hoseok wished he could be too.

"You can keep dating Jimin." He suddenly said, eyes on a moving cart passing by them.

"What?" The mint head raised a brow, stopping midway of drinking his glass of water.

"I won't tell our parents, don't worry. I don't want to get in the way of your relationship with Jimin." He pressed his lips in a thin line.

"Um... thanks." Yoongi didn't know how to show his gratefulness to the other so he settled on tapping his fingers on the table. "Do you want to go? I can drive you home." He mumbled the last part but Hoseok shyly nodded his head.

With that, Yoongi payed the bill before they stood up to walk out the slightly crowded restaurant.

They got in the older's car and drove off with the radio on low volume to create background noises replacing some of the tension in the vehicle.

"I didn't know you could drive. W-why don't you drive yourself to school?" Hoseok tried to make small talk but it was hard not to stutter from his fidgeting nerves caused by the boy next to him. He still liked the older after all. Despite the clear hatred he had towards the younger. It hurt to know that the person you liked didn't like you back but it's worst when they also despised your presence.

"My mom doesn't trust me to go straight home after basketball practice anymore since I always used to skip dinner to go out late so she decided on sending a driver." He explained, stopping the car for a moment to let the gates open for the Jungs' residence. Once he was inside, he momentarily parked the car near the front door before looking at the brown-eyed boy. "Here's your stop."

"Thank you for today, Yoongi." Hoseok slightly bowed in his seat but Yoongi only nodded. When he got out of the car, Yoongi immediately drove off, the gates closing behind his vehicle.
