Prologue

Here's the first part which explains how Kol and Davina met

A beautiful girl with long brown hair and bright blue eyes had half her face covered as she snook her way to a stable where two horses were.

She glanced behind her to check if anyone was looking before entering the stable. She smiled as she saw the horses and walked over to the black one to untie it when she was suddenly startled by the voice of a man speaking behind her.

"You know you should be more careful if you intend to steal something" the man spoke as the girl turned around and her blue eyes widened slightly at being caught and she grew nervous that he would tell on her or have her killed for attempting to steal.

The man chuckled at her silence "if you're going to steal a horse, I suggest you take the brown one as the black one tends to be a bit aggressive. I reckon you have at least ten minutes before anyone notices you or I don't know alert people that there's a thief around" he said raising his voice a little at the last part causing the girl to grab him and pull him into the stable , pushing him against the wall and she quickly held a dagger to his throat making him smirk as a light chuckle escaped his lips.

The girl gasped as he suddenly switched them around so now she was pressed against the wall and he gently took the dagger from her hand "easy love, I don't mean you any harm. I just want to know why you're out to steal a horse?" the man pondered looking into her eyes which looked up into his "my godfather's horse was taken from him by the King. He needs a horse to get to the mines, if he doesn't then he won't get his money and he won't be able to get food for his family" she explained softly although her heart was beating rapidly in her chest as their bodies were now pressed together, she felt nervous but slightly comfortable.

"And if he can't get food for his family then they'll starve and die" the man said the girl nodded "I figured why not take a horse from this rich scum. It's not like he'll miss the horse or anything, he can easily get another" she spoke "you're right he won't miss the horse too much knowing it's been taken for a very good reason" the man replied making the girl frown in confusion "how would you know that?" she asked her blue eyes scanning his brown eyes that held a hint of mischief, wonder and awe.

"I happen to be close with the rich scum that lives here" the man responded "are you going to tell on me?" she asked "no, I'll say I didn't see a thing when he asks what happened to one of his horses" he replied giving her a small smile as he moved one of his hands and placed it on her shoulder as gently as possible.

"So you're going to just let me take the horse?" she asked "he's yours but only if you give me your name" he said "Davina. My names Davina Claire and you are?" she asked her breath hitching in her throat as the man smirked at her "the rich scum that lives here. I'm Lord Kol Mikaelson, pleasure to meet you Davina Claire" he responded as he pulled down the scarf that covered her mouth and nose.

His heart stopped in his chest at how beautiful she was and he couldn't help himself from tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear as he looked into her beautiful blue eyes. Davina cleared her throat and looked away from him "so can I take the horse now?" she asked moving her hands from her sides and placing them on his chest "of course" Kol replied stepping away from her allowing her to walk over to the horses.

She decided to take the brown one like he suggested and as she left with the horse her and Kol turned to look at each other one last time before she walked away leaving the Lord who had a huge smile on his face as he watched her walk away.

Lord Kol and Davina kept seeing each other after that day and whether it was because of fate or the fact that Kol desperately wanted to see her again after that day they didn't know but they soon became romantically involved with each other.
