Chapter 23

Six months later...

No one's pov

Six months had past since the fall of the false King and since New Orleans was reborn under the reign of the new King and Queen. Kol and Davina they were now the rulers of New Orleans and they were already doing a splendid job. They were honest, loyal, devoted, kind, brave and strong rulers. They funded money to help build new houses for homeless people and Kol secured the mines so they were safe for work. They also had refurbished the palace to remove any trace of Lucien. They also opened a soup kitchen so if any people who weren't very wealthy were low on money or food, they could get free food from the soup kitchen. People volunteered to work at the soup kitchen to help the community. Everyone in New Orleans worked together to make the city better with the help of King Kol and Queen Davina. 

As of right now, Kol was sat outside their bedroom in the palace as Davina was currently in labor and he couldn't enter until she was on the verge of giving birth since it was some sort of rule for the husband/father to wait outside until the woman was giving birth. 

Clara was currently playing in her room with Alexis keeping her company and Enzo was watching over them. Kol was anxiously bouncing his knee up and down as he chewed on his lip, closing his eyes everytime he heard his wife scream in agony. He hated hearing her scream like that, he wanted to sooth her pain and comfort her. Kol stood up as the door opened and Bonnie stepped out along with a nurse "how is she?" he asked anxiously "she's ready. You may come in now" the nurse replied making Kol sigh in relief as he followed them into the room. His eyes lit up at the sight of Davina who was covered in sweat and had her hair all messy but she still looked beautiful. "Hi love" he said softly as he approached her and sat in the chair next to the bed as he held her hand in his "hi" she whispered "you ready to do this?" he asked as he laid a kiss on her hand making her smile softly "yes" she replied giving his hand a squeeze. "Okay your majesty. Get ready to push on 3" the nurse informed Davina nodded and took a deep breath as she counted to 3 under her breath before squeezing Kol's hand as she began to push. "That's it love. Keep going" Kol encouraged kissing her hand as she pushed again "Ahh!" she screamed squeezing Kol's hand as she pushed harder. "Deep breaths love" Kol spoke softly Davina sucked in a breath and took a deep breath, closing her eyes before pushing again. "Ahhh!" she yelled tossing her head back "you're almost there, just a little more" the nurse informed as Bonnie hurried around collecting towels and blankets to prepare for the baby to come out. "Ahh!" Davina yelled as she pushed again "that's it love. You're doing so good" Kol spoke kissing her hand "I can see the head. Give us another push your majesty" the nurse informed Davina nodded and gave a big push "that's it, just a little more" the nurse said "ahh! We are so not having sex again for at least two years!" Davina yelled as she pushed again, her face scrunched up in pain. Kol didn't answer knowing she didn't mean it and kissed her on the cheek "just a little more your majesty, the head is out" the nurse informed, Kol couldn't resist and took a peak, smiling as he locked eyes with their baby. Davina screamed as she pushed with all her might making the baby slide right out and the newborn baby started crying. "It's a girl!" the nurse announced as she gently cleaned the baby with a towel. Kol and Davina smiled in happiness "we have another daughter" Kol said kissing his wife on the forehead "you're outrun by women" Davina joked with a giggle "that doesn't bother me in the slightest. It just means I get the love of three perfect girls" Kol replied as he gently kissed her on the lips making her smile. "Your highness, would you like to cut the umbilical cord?" the nurse asked Kol nodded eagerly "yes, please" he replied the nurse handed him some scissors and with shaky hands Kol carefully cut the umbilical cord. The baby girl whimpered and squirmed in the nurses hands making Kol panic that he did something wrong "what did I do?" he asked "you did nothing your highness. Don't worry" the nurse assured making Kol calm down. The nurse gently wrapped up the baby girl in a blanket before handing her to Davina. Davina smiled as she looked at her baby girl "she's so perfect" she whispered as she gently traced the baby girls cheek with her finger. Kol sat beside her on the bed, looking down at their new baby. She was sleeping quietly in her mothers arms, nuzzling against her body for warmth making the two parents smile proudly.
