Chapter 9

Luke

"Why?" I ask.

"Because, Obviously my parents don't trust you, and they are probably waiting outside before they leave."

"Are you serious?"

"My parents are very protective. They don't know I had sex with you Luke." She says.

"They wouldn't wait though right?"

She walks to a curtain and takes a peak outside. "They're waiting."

"Let me get my vans." I mumble and go to grab them.

"I'm sorry."

"It's fine, I'm picking where we are eating. DO you have any allergies?"

"Nope."

"Off we go." I open the door for her and she exits and waves to the car. I shut the door and she locks it and I unlock my jeep and open the door for her then hop in.

"Where are we going?"

"Out to eat do'h, It was your idea."

"I know that." She playfully slaps my arm and then I turn all my attention to the road. "No but where?"

"It's a secret." I wink to her and continue driving.

"Shut up." She slaps my arm again after we pull into the parking lot.

"I didn't even talk."

"You know what I mean."

"DO you like this place?"

"It's my favorite but it's always so expensive.."

"Red Lobster always is." I laugh finally finding a parking spot.

"I'll pay you back."

"Nope."

"If I have to make you chew the money, you're taking the money I'm giving you back."

"I don't want your money. This is our first date, I'm the man, and that means I'll pay." I smile proudly, getting out of the car and walk around it to open the door for Ariel.

"I don't need you acting like a gentleman." She teases fixing and imaginary bow-tie.

"Ha-ha." I grab her hand. "Let's go."

"Did you make a reservation?"

"No. It's just Red Lobster."

"It's still fancy."

"Yeah whatever."

I watch as she puts her dirty napkin on the plate in front of her.

"I haven't been here in forever."

"Really?"

"Yeah. My parents are always busy so it was always just Calum and I. It's different now."

"I'm sorry."

"What are you sorry about?"

"For being a jerk before?"

"Everyone is a jerk Luke."

"I'm the biggest one yet."

"Don't say that." She rolls her eyes and the waiter comes back and smiles at her.

"Here is the check. And something else."

She giggles and gives me the check.

"What the hell man. Why would you give her your number. You know shes not 18 yet."

"For when she is 18."

"Luke let it go."

"No! He's a horny guy who doesn't give a shit about ages and you know I can give this to someone and see if you'll get fired."

"Luke people are staring it's okay."

"Congratulations Luke! You passed the test." The waiter says.

"What test?"

"Oh! My Parents test, to make sure that you'll be protective over me I guess."

"Can we just go now?"

"Of course Luke."

The car ride to her house is quiet. Until we stop at a light.

"I'm sorry my parents always do this.... Wait they always wanted to. They even told me. I guess that's why they were so excited I got a boyfriend."

"That's weird."

"I guess it kinda is."

"But it's good that they are protective over you." I mumble and start driving again.

"I like you a lot Luke."

"I like you a lot too Ariel."
