"Teresa, You're okay!" Sonya hugged her. She hugged back, "I am. I'm fine. See, I told you I wouldn't get hurt."

"Thank goodness." Sonya sighed. "Are you okay, Thomas?"

"Yeah." He said from behind her. "We're both fine."

They were fine if one ignored the fact that they had to hide in a closet for an entire hour to escape cranks. Hilarious, those cranks were. Never leaving and forever annoying.

"I'm gonna go give this to Minho." Thomas gestured to the sack he had thrown over his shoulder which housed the things they had gathered. "I'll be back."

Teresa nodded. Rest of the evening passed by so quick. Everyone retired to their assigned places to sleep. Of course, everyone were too excited to get out of there that they were not happy with the idea of taking rest but they knew they would need their strength for tomorrow.

Teresa lay awake, staring at the broken ceiling. She heard cranks growl at a far distance. But that was not what her mind was on. It was on the boy that confused her judgement at every point. It was on Thomas and the kiss that had almost happened. It was on the boy she was going to leave behind.

She turned to her left, still thinking when she heard Thomas's familiar voice say, "Couldn't sleep?"

She looked up and saw him walking towards her. "Hey...Yeah...Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"I don't know." He said, sitting beside her. She thought of sitting up too, but her body felt exhausted and she decided not to.

"Why are you and Minho not talking?" She asked, in a low voice, careful not to wake up anyone around them.

"How do you know we're not talking?"

Teresa scoffed. "I'm not blind Tom."

He sighed, explaining to her about Newt.

"Oh my god...Tom..I'm so sorry." She said, patting to the spot next to her for him to lie down. Thomas complied, "It's fine." He laid down and turned to face her. Teresa made herself comfortable, leaning on her elbow under her head, using it as a pillow.

"It's not....Thomas, you have to know it wasn't your fault."

He grimaced, looking at his feet.

"Hey, look at me." Teresa said softly. "It wasn't your fault. Say you know that."

"I do know that...It's just...I wish things were different..."

"I know..." Teresa said, slowly.

They remained silent for a while, both immersed in their own thoughts.

"Teresa..." He said, making her look back to him. He had his eyes closed as he asked, "Have you forgiven me?" He knew Teresa had asked him not to talk of this till they went to safe haven. But after the near kiss and their close proximity in the closet, he needed to know.

Teresa opened her mouth as she stared. Before she could answer, Thomas shook his head, "Forget it. It's a stupid question. We can talk about this after we go to safe haven..sorry. Forget I asked."

"Thomas, it's not a stupid question.."

"It is."

"It is not."

"I just don't want you to think that I'm harassing you... constantly asking if I'm forgiven. I know it's going to be hard for you to forgive me for what I did. I'm just...sorry."

Teresa stared at the open, honest expression on his face and she thought, if she sent Thomas to safe haven and she was never going to see him again, would he live out the rest of his life forgetting it? One look at his face told her that wasn't the case. The truth was, if Teresa sent him off to safe haven and was never to be heard from again, Thomas would go mad thinking she had never forgiven him for what he did and the guilt would probably eat him alive. So she said, "I forgave you."
