I arrived home with soaking wet hair. "Too bad I forgot to bring an umbrella." I took out my laptop which was in a case. I hid it inside my coat so it wouldn't get wet. I placed my things down by the couch and decided to take a bath the moment I arrived. I grabbed my towel and proceeded towards the bathroom.
-

I sat down by the couch, drying my wet hair with my towel. I turned my laptop on and the TV. "A woman was caught trying to take her life away." The reporter announced and played a video of a girl by the edge of a tall building, her face blurred. "Not only that but luckily, she was caught in time."

The rain started pouring heavily. "The  heavy storm will continue tomorrow. 'Til then, please be safe. We'll update you on the weather as soon as possible." I turned the TV off when commercials started playing and heaved a breath.

received  an email from jiyeon110@email.com

I clicked on the email and there was a folder.

hey, so I managed to get it fixed and got the original copy. I'm sorry for the inconvenience, it will never happen again. (sent by jiyeon110@email.com)

Before responding back, I checked on the files and she was right. Everything was back to normal. I started to type,

thank you. (message sent)

Doesn't seem much, but at least I don't have to pull an all nighter on the same project I've done for an entire week on just one night.

have you told you grandfather yet? (message sent)

To my surprise, she responded fast.

he hasn't come home yet. must be traffic today because of the heavy rain. did you make it safe? (sent by jiyeon110@email.com)

yeah, it's all good. (message sent)

I looked at the time and it was about to be 7:30pm soon. My stomach was in great pain because of the amount of caffeine I digested in the last 24 hours. I haven't eaten a proper meal in days, but I don't feel like eating anyway because of this stomach ache.

I decided to sleep it off. As usual.
-

I woke up at around 4am. "Jesus.." I said as I rubbed my temple, getting a headache the moment I woke up. I stood up from the couch and walked towards my kitchen to drink milk. I chugged it down my system and took a deep breath.

After a long process of thinking, I decided to take a jog. In 4am. The park wasn't that far from my place so it's all good. I changed into some joggers and a plain dark blue tee and some running shoes. I walked out of my apartment and locked the door behind me.

I looked out the balcony, "storm my ass." Since it was at 4am, the clouds weren't really visible. All I knew was it was dark and humid. I went down my apartment building and was about to cross the street but

"What are you doing here?" I asked, turning towards Jiyeon who was outside of the convenience store where I first met her. She turned to me and immediately turned away, wiping something from her eyes and sniffled silently. "Sorry, I'm getting allergies." Judging from her eyes and nose, she's been here for a while.

"You must be cold, would you like to come inside?" I asked, pointing towards my apartment. She shook her head and chuckled, "I don't even know why I came all this way." She kicked the air weakly.

"Did you come here by yourself?" I asked. She nodded slowly, looking down. "You shouldn't be doing that. It's dangerous for a girl like you to be out here in the dark." I said. Jiyeon doesn't respond but bites her lower lip. "I was going to walk around the park, but why don't you join me?" Her eyes meet mine.

Next thing I knew, we were both walking towards the park. "What made you wanna come here?" I asked. Jiyeon shoved her hands inside her pockets and shrugged, "I just couldn't sleep. My grandfather arrived very late and didn't seem to have the mood to talk."

"I tried to. But he seemed stressed about meetings, due dates, everything. And I didn't want to add up the trouble."

Jiyeon looked down with her fists clenched tightly. "You know, just because he's stressed, doesn't mean he doesn't have time for you." I said softly. "He may be busy, but I'm sure he'll take time off for you, even if it was just for a minute. After all, you already seemed so distant towards him." I said the last part slowly, regretting that I said that.

"You.. really think so?" I slowly nodded. "Why do you think he wants you to join his business? So you two can spend more time together. And he wants the best for you." Jiyeon stayed silent. "You see it or not, I know his day will automatically turn bright and sunny when you tell him that you're willing to work in his business."

She sighed, "then I'll do so." Jiyeon turned to look at me and smiled.
