Sarah's POV

Curling up on her couch, wearing her wine stained sweatpants, a baggy t-shirt, hair pulled back, and makeup free face, was not how she had planned to spend her New Years, but it was not different from the last few.

Flipping on the TV to watch the ball drop, she saw the commercials telling her that Ashton and his band were on next. The cameras scanned in on them sitting in the green room waving, jumping, all smiles and getting pumped for the show. She smiled on her couch for them.

She was geniunley proud of them and happy they were the one in a million.

After the commercial break a presenter stood in front of an empty stage, surrounded by hundereds of thousands of people and began to talk up the next act.

"Tonight we have the new guys of the pop punk world, who have had a number one album, and single on the U.S. charts. These four Aussie boys have traveled a long way to be here tonight and we are thrilled to have them perform their latest hit. Here they are, 5 Seconds of Summer!"

The camera panned away and soon the boys were running on to the stage and jumping to get the crowd pumped with them.

"Hello New York!" Ashton shouted and people responded with equal shouts of enthusiasm.

"We are 5 Seconds of Summer and we had to change what song we planned to sing for you tonight. Hope you enjoy it either way." Luke spoke and then a strong up beat came through the TV speakers.

"I love that accent you have when you say hello

You relocated from New York a month ago

That minivan that you drive really gets me going

And if it feels like it's right

Then it can't be wrong"

Sarah felt her foot tapping beneath her bum. It was catchy and decently original. The camera was panning the crowd and sure enough she was able to see Amelia, bundled up and watching the performance. She looked so happy, and loved up as she watched her secret boyfriend perform. Sarah felt a guilty feeling in her stomach. She felt bad for telling Amelia to 'fuck off'. Although it was well deserved, it was a bit too far.

She knew how much those words had hurt when Ashton said them, so to use it against her felt extremly low and Sarah knew she would need to call Amelia in the morning to give the biggest apology.

"No one understands the chemistry we have

And it came out of nowhere

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

It's not like we planned this, it's getting out of hand

And now we're gonna go there"

Her mind was now paying more attention to the lyrics that were being sung. She watched as Ashton went into his zone and played the way he had the first time she saw him at the concert she was forceably dragged to. But at one point he looked into the camera and began to sing and harmonizing for the chorus.

"Walk my way

Mrs All American

Say my name

No need to pretend

Don't be shy

Mrs All American

I'll show you why

You're not gonna walk away"
