"Why were you two out here anyway?" I asked them curiously.
Ponyboy and Johnny exchanged looks until Ponyboy decided to speak.
"We just wanted to hang out," He said simply.
Johnny nodded his head to clarify that what Ponyboy said was true. Hang out? I'm guessing that's what all teenagers do now. I was too caught up in modeling that I didn't have time to hang out or make friends with anyone but other teen models.
"Well, my sister and I just came from "hanging" out too. Well my sister was mostly hanging out her "friends." Everything was fine until they started to offer her beer, which caused her to make a fool out of herself. I'm just happy that I was there with her," I said while looking at Cookie who wasn't sleeping anymore but still looked dazed. She probably won't remember today that's for sure.
The rest of the walk was fairly quiet. Either because they weren't used to a Soc being nice to them or because they weren't used to talking to a girl. I mean attempting at small talk wouldn't hurt.
"Do Socs attack y'all often?" Shit. I just asked the most stupidest question ever.
"Yeah. We could just be minding our own business and they would come and try to bother us," Ponyboy explained. As he spoke, Johnny looked a bit shaken up by this conversation.
"We don't have to talk about this if it makes you uncomfortable," I said to Johnny. He then shook his head quickly.
"I-It's just. A group of Socs had jumped me and they..." Johnny trailed off quietly. I gave him a sympathetic look. Socs can be disgusting sometimes. They just like to mess with others who they think are less than them and laugh about it. Even though I am a Soc myself, I am not in league with what they do.
"How much longer are we going to walkkkk?" Cookie moaned as I continue to drag her.
"I could have left you with your two faced friends. But I didn't so stop complaining," I said while glaring at her. She returned the glare and then looked confused.
"Who the hell are these two?" She asked while looking at Johnny and Ponyboy suspiciously.
"This is Johnny and Ponyboy. I'm taking them home,"
"Y'all got girlfriends?" Cookie asked. Ok, both drunk Cookie and sober Cookie would ask that. She still is interested in Marlon but she wouldn't hesitate to ask anyone out.
Johnny and Ponyboy turned a dark shade of red and shook their heads quickly. Also Cookie's low cut outfit also brought the boys attention.
"Don't pay attention to her she's too drunk to function," I whispered over to them. Apparently Cookie heard it.
"I am NOT," Cookie yelled back angrily. Man I wish she didn't wake up from her sleep walking.
"How much closer are we until we reach y'all house?"
"Not too far away," Ponyboy said. He was right. As we began to walk even further we came across houses smaller than the ones from our neighborhood. Also multiple greasers were outside smoking cigarettes. Cookie looked around like a kid in a candy store.
"This is like a cool looking neighborhood. Ours is like so boring," Cookie said while dragging out the boring for too long. I really wish I brought tape for this girl.
"First time I've heard a Soc say something like that," Ponyboy commented. Where they lived did look interesting in fact.
We continued walking until Ponyboy stopped at small white house. Looks cozy. I was about to knock when Ponyboy stoped me. He then just opened the door himself. They don't lock the doors?
"Hey Ponyboy!" A boy with rust colored hair and gray eyes called out to him. If I remember correctly that's Two Bit Matthews. He's basically the biggest clown and flirt in Tulsa. Two Bit then looked me and practically gasped.
"Ain't that Candy Moore?" He asked.
"Yeah. She helped me and Johnny get away from a group of Socs,"
"Weren't you in Playboy or something?" Two Bit asked. I frowned a bit. I get this question way too much.
"No. I wouldn't get caught wearing that bunny outfit,"
"Actually. She would. She would love to even strip to the bottom for them!" Cookie declared. Two Bit looked interested in where this was going.
"Cookie. Please stay quiet,"
"You stay quiet! I can say whatever the hell I want. Who's gonna stop me anyway?"
"What's going on here?" A voice came out. He was very broad and had piercing ice like eyes. Darryl. I surely remember him. We never really spoke but I remember him.
"This broad helped Johnny and Ponyboy. She's quite the looker too." Two Bit explained. Darryl looked at me suspiciously also. I really don't need to get caught up in all this drama. Besides I had to get home.
"Yeah. It was nice meeting y'all, but I really gotta take my sister home. Uh have a good night. Bye!" I said while trying to leave.
"Candy you're like such a buzzkill," Cookie moaned. Yeah we definitely need to go home. Cookie did an awkward wave goodbye and we started to head home. Those greasers were surely something else.
