-four years later-

Lillian saw her Father talking to a man who wore a blue jacket. "George Washington, probably coming to make your father a general... they did fight together. He trust him." Nathaniel said as her father walked in with the man. "Lillian Dear come down." Her Father yelled as Nathaniel opened the door for her. Lillian held her hands tight in front of her. "Father..." Lillian said as she tried to smile. "Sit please, you to Nathaniel." Her father said calmly. "We are at war with England and I have agreed to command some of the northern troops. I will be gone, Lillian you will have to find a husband next season just in case-"

"Do not say that... I need to find a husband because you may die. Do not say you may die." Lillian said tears filling her eyes. "Nathaniel watch Lillian I am leavening this evening."  Her father said with a somber expression. "War doesn't mean He will die Miss Anderson." Washington said. "Don't make those promises. We know what they do to those they capture." Lillian said getting up. "Will you excuse me. I must go meet with a  Kassandra." Lillian said leaving the room. "It will be hard for her... but she can handle it I just hope I could trust her to take care of herself." Her father said as Lillian left the house. Kassandra seemed distraught to. "They Drafted my brother..." Kassandra said with her eyes looking towards the ground.

A man pulled Lillian into the alleyway as Kassandra rushed to caught up with a friend. "Lillian it's me." William said as Lillian looked at him. "William, yesterday you said you were going to leave." Lillian said with a shy smile. "I am not leaving, yet I came to check on you. You seem sadden." William said putting hit hat down a bit as some troops walked by. "I can not tell you but my father is traveling. So you can write me letters, but William just be careful out there." Lillian said turning as she saw Kassandra looking around for her.

"Sorry...I just had to stop, I felt faint. I must go home." Lillian said as she turned on her heel. "father... I am sorry. I was distracted." Lillian said with a smile. "It is okay my dear stay safe." Her father said kissing the top of her head.  Lillian went inside. "We must keep going, For the freedom of the colonies and for my father's wishes." She told the servant. "Lady Kassandra and her mother will be coming shortly, please be ready for them." Lillian order. "Lillian dearest, Your father thinks your ready for courting... I will be your teacher. Lillian learned for hours she liked the outfit to wear. She felt sadden that her mother was not there as well, she died a year after Lillian was born but she had seen paintings. They say she was as beautiful as her but she could never understand that. She watch them leave, "I will retire to my room." Lillian said with a small smile.

The war was in full swing, prices skyrocket and she gave out food to the poorer children she saw. Lillian seemed to notice many red coats stare out her, they all seem to look in the same place. She wish William was there to tell them to knock it off but he was sent to New York and a small aching pain was being to form.

Lillian received letters from her father and from William. Both warmed her heart, her eyes loved Williams handwriting, her eyes filled with tears. The terrors of war was real, she could hear the cannons and the guns in her mind. That night of the Boston Massacre her bother was shot and killed. Lillian held the letter tight from William then hid it under her bed in the box of her brother's stuff. She felt conflicted, Her father and brother wanted freedom for the colonies, but she wanted... She wanted him. She wanted William.
