Chapter 2

Candace's POV

I opened the door to my small home.

I slowly closed it trying to creep upstairs.

"Candace what are you doing home so early?"

I stopped in my tracks and turned to see my mother sitting in the living room on the couch.

"I uh got sent home because I'm sick." I said adding a fake cough.

"Stop lying to me..why did you really get to come home?" She asked patting the spot next to her.

I sighed and went to sit beside her.

"They were making fun of me again." I said again with a tear coming out of my eye.

"Aww baby you have to stick up for yourself!" She said wrapping her arms around me.

I started crying in her arms.

I always got bullied and I never knew why.

All of a sudden we heard a knock on the door.

"I got it." I said standing up.

I wiped my tears and walked over to the door opening it.

I was surprised to see Donald standing there.

Did he follow me? Why did he leave school?

He cleared his throat. "I wanted you to know that I'm sorry for what happened back there and that I hope you're okay." He said with a deep yet husky voice. His eyes were everywhere but on me.

I almost screamed when I heard him talk. I have never heard him talk till today. His voice sexy! I'm so excited that he finally talked to me.

I stood there staring at him in shock.

I finally left my daze. "Thank you for checking up on me and I'm okay just a little sad." I said.

He nodded.

He looked like he was debating against something in his head.

"Um do you want to go get something to eat?" He asked.

I looked at my mother who was behind the door listening.

She nodded her head and mouth "you better do it girl!"

I nodded my head "sure." I smiled.

He did a small smile too.

He is so shy and I love it.

I grabbed my jacket and we walked outside.

I wanted to grab his hand but I was too shy.
