Chapter 9

Candace's POV

"I can't believe it's you," I said surprised to be sitting right across from my old best friend Donald Glover.

He gave me a small smile. "Yeah it's me and you look so different," He said looking at me.

He was right. I looked completely different from when I was little. I no longer had my glasses and braces , my hair got longer , & I'm not tall and thin anymore. I sort of have a body now.

"Yeah I did grow up a lot," I said.

Donald looked the same but he had hair on his face.

"So what have you been up to?" He asked me.

"I'm working on becoming a actress , becoming a movie star , & I'm only working here till I finish my acting classes," I said with a smile.

"Oh that sounds cool," He said looking pleased at my answer.

"What are you up to?" I asked him.

"I'm a rapper , my stage name is Childish Gambino , & I also act," He said.

I was so surprised at his answer because he never seemed like the type to be in the music or acting business.

"Wow that's amazing..you must have broke out of your shell," I said.

He nodded. "Yeah I have."

I was about to reply back when I hear Cindy yell something.

"GET BACK TO WORK!" She yelled.

I jumped at the sound of her voice.

"I have a break in a hour or so I should be able to talk then," I said quickly before getting up and walking away.

I swear Cindy gets on my nerves. 😒

"I'm going on my break!" I called to Cindy who was in the back stacking boxes.

"Okay be back in a half a hour," she said making me groan.

She gave me a shorter time because I was "slacking off"

I wasn't surprised to see Donald outside in his car waiting for me.

I walked over to his car and got in sitting on the leather seat.

He had a red Porsche. It was beautiful. 😍❤️

"Where do you wanna go?" He asked me once I was seated.

"Anywhere," I replied just wanting to get away from here.

He nodded , started up his car , & pulled off.

"I come up here to think a lot," He said once we finally made it up the mountain

The view was so beautiful , you could see almost all of New York.

"I missed you a lot," I said walking over to the edge and sitting down making my foot hang over the edge.

He came and sat down beside me.

"I missed you too , probably more then you missed me," he said wrapping his arm around me.

It felt good to be around him again even if it may not last forever.
