Kevin drove me to my old apartment as I held my heels and fixed my dress to try to get a word with my fiancee. I knocked on the door softly, already hearing shifting inside. "Hey! Its me! I wanna talk." I announced, getting his attention as Kevin waited with me but further down the hall as I'm pretty sure they don't want to see each other.
The door locked, and I knew he was in there completely now!
"Hey! Open up!" I shouted, growing frustrated. "I heard the door locked! I just wanna talk!" I yelled through the door as I took my stance and pounded on the door. "Come out here!" I yelled at him, but no response! This man was garbage!
Hitting the door, everyone came out as Kevin slowly walked up to me.
"You asshole! We need to talk! You can't just ignore me!" I started violently kicking the door as my vision started to turn red, as I growled at the door. "Bitch! I know you're there!" I cursed, forceable turning the nob in such a passion of hate.
Feeling my shoulder tapped on, I slapped the person to do so as I took a glance and it made me do a double take as it was Kevin! "Kevin! I'm so sorry!" I turned to him, instantly forgetting about the door. I reached to his face where I slapped him. "Are you okay? Did I hurt you?" My voice became calm instantly.
"Yeah, I'm okay. Just got me by surprise." He set his hand over mine on his face.
The door slowly opened, making it only allowed to be open because of the chain holding it back. Looking towards it, I could see my ex staring into the little Gap. He looked Kevin, instantly getting just as mad as I was. "I knew you still talked to him!" He shouted.
"What? No!" I pulled away from Kevin. "He was the only person I knew where he lived!" I lied, I went to him because Kevin was my good friend.
"Fucking liar," he mumbled as I saw something push out the doorway and onto the ground. It was our engagement ring. "I knew you still hung out with him." He said, closing the door and leaving me in more shame.
All the neighbors who decided to eavesdrop on the conversation between my ex and I were slowly retreating back into their apartments. It wasn't a comfortable feeling to be judged, and Kevin slowly bent down to pick up the ring and hold it for me. I look to him, as he gestured towards the doorway so we could both leave. Noticing the damage that I did to the door, I did make a little bit of dents and marks on it so that did make me feel better.
To be honest, I was more upset about the fact that I had the audacity to slap Kevin like that. I felt absolutely terrible about doing that to him.
