"I finally met you! Jeongin always mentions you," Eunbi and I chatted as she drove us to the clinic. "Are you two dating?"

"Well, I guess... right?" Jeongin looked at me and we both shrugged. We haven't really talked about it yet.

"Ahh, it's complicated." Eunbi answered for us. She seems so cool and laid-back, I wish Felix was like that instead of being so annoying.

"Are you studying or have a job?" I asked her, in attempt to get to know her more.

"Both. I have a part time job at a café, and I'm also studying to become a child psychiatrist... half way there, I'm starting my residency in a few months."

"Woah, that's awesome!" My jaw hanged open in amazement.

Usually, people go to clinics for a check up, but it seems as if it's a different case for Jeongin. He mentioned to me that his doctor is specialized in nephrology, so his parents always take him to that one.

"It'll be okay." I squeezed his hand before we went inside the doctor's office.

Jeongin got a few immunizations and tests done, so we had to wait a while to finally get the results. It seems as if Eunbi was getting more anxious, because apparently it took longer than usual.

The doctor came in with a big envelope in his hands and a worried look on his face. I felt extremely nervous to what he's about to say...

"I think your parents should be here when I tell you." The doctor suggested.

"They're busy, and if you made me wait I'll just become even more anxious." Jeongin's hands formed into a fist, so I put mine in his to calm him down a bit.

"You've developed chronic kidney disease this time, and it's already at a late stage... you only had one kidney left, and it's also damaged now. Your spleen is also not functioning properly, which is causing major defects in your blood stream."

"So, basically I'm gonna die?" I could head the pain in his voice, and it's killing me.

"We can attempt to do a kidney transplant if there's an available donor, but with you spleen also damaged... I'm not sure if it's the best idea. Also, if we start dialysis once again, it could make you even more ill. Your immune system is extremely weak." He explained.

"So I am gonna die..." Jeongin placed his head on his palms in frustration. "What are the chances that the surgery would be successful? What would be the side effects? How much longer will I live-"

"Jeongin..." Eunbi teared up.

"How much time do I have left?" He stuttered.

"Based on studies within your age group, your past and recent medical conditions, your white blood cells count... about two or three months..." The doctor looked down in pity. "I know it's quite shocking to hear how severe it's gotten without even seeing any signs; I'm extremely sorry."

Of course it would come back.

It was expected, but I never thought of it to become this severe. Now that I have Jinha with me... I don't want to die.

"Don't worry Jeongin, I'll always stay by your side." Jinha put her arms through mine, and leaned her head against my shoulders which somewhat kept me at ease. We're currently in my room, since I finally felt comfortable showing her everything.

"You don't need to get involve with my problem." I glanced a look towards her, but she wasn't even listening to anything that was coming out of my mouth.

"I like being with you." She stared into my eyes which abruptly made my heart stop,

"But you're only gonna get hurt in the end... that wouldn't make me any happy," I sighed in despair. "Should we just continue being friends?"

"Are you rejecting me?" Jinha attempted to brighten up the mood, and she successfully did. "You're gonna live, and we're gonna fight through this together."

"Didn't you hear what the doctor said-"

"We'll find something or someone who could help... just don't worry about anything, Jeongin-ah. Let's be happy and do everything on your bucket list."

"Let's do it within three months."
