The night sky was finally settled into its indigo color with only the stars and the moon providing some light onto the earth. Everyone in the village was sound asleep except one young boy who sat next to a window in his room, looking up to the sky. He did this every night before bed as it brought him some sense of peace. Listening to the young girl, who was only a few years younger than he, snoring softly in the bed on the opposite side of his.

Taking in a deep breath as he was about to move away from the window, a change in the night sky caught his eyes. Squinting his brown eyes to get a better look at the foreign shape, seeing the fire around it as it broke through Earth's atmosphere. Springing from his position, running to the sleeping girl before shaking her.

"Nadiah." The boy whispered, earning a groan from her as she tried to swat his hands away.

"Leave me alone Lincoln, I'm trying to sleep." The seven-year-old girl said in a raspy voice. Lincoln rolled his eyes before shaking her again, "Get up, Nadiah. There's something in the sky."

Nadiah's tired eyes opened, staring up to the boy. A small smile crept upon his face as he helped her out of bed and dragged her to the window, pointing up to the sky for her. "See, it's there!" Lincoln exclaimed with excitement as he looked down to her, only to see her green eyes widen with excitement before looking to him.

"What do you think it is?" The green-eyed girl asked before looking back out of the window, watching as it collided into the Earth not too far. Lincoln shrugged as an idea popped in his head. "I don't know but let's go find out." He said as he rushed to put on his shoes then to find his knife that his father gave him. Stopping his search as he didn't hear Nadiah move from her spot, turning around to see that she was looking at him nervously.

"I don't think we should go. My mother and your father will not be happy if they found out we left." Doubting the idea as she stood there, hugging herself. Lincoln shook his head, "They won't find out. They are in Polis and won't be back until tomorrow evening, we will be back before morning. Please, Nadiah."He begged, knowing that she would cave since their parents did say to listen to him while they were away. Earning a sigh as she moved over to her bed and sunk her feet into her boots, grabbing her wooden staff as her weapon of choice. Giving him a nod as the two quietly made their way out of the house, beginning their run towards the crash site.

It had felt as if they had been running for hours, leaving Nadiah's feet aching her. Panting as they continue their run, jumping over fallen trees as the smoke came closer to them. "I can see it, there." Lincoln pointed, giving the girl some hope, pushing herself more until she was in the lead. "Wait up!" She could hear Lincoln call out to her, but her excitement and curiosity got the best of her. The metal container was closer than she had anticipated, trying to halt herself as she began to slide in the mud. Even with her staff, she could stop until her small body crashed into the space pod then onto the ground. Let out a painful groan as she heard the boy call out her name. With the crashing and groaning, she hadn't that the door to the pod had opened.

She could hear the whimper and groans from inside. Frightened, she grabbed her wooden staff tightly and leaped up from the ground, ready to attack until her eyes rested on the injured bloody man. A slight gasp had escaped her lips, standing down from her attack position.

"Help me." The man said as a fight of coughs erupted from his throat. The two stared at him in confusion, unsure of what he was saying to them and how he fell from the sky.

"What is he saying?" Nadiah asked the boy, who was standing next to her. Her eyes didn't dare to move away from the man as he continued to speak in his foreign language. Lincoln was in a trance with everything himself, "I don't know."

Placing her hand onto his arm before giving him a small push, "Go get some water for him, I'll stay with him." Hearing the boy agree, feeling his presence disappear to get the water from a nearby pond. Taking in a deep breath as she moved closer to the man, "It will be okay." she said to him for reinsurance.

Little did she know, that three days later would be the last time that the man from the sky would take in his last breath on Earth.
