"I've been caught up with my feelings. I am losing my control over you, girl."

The entire tenth grade was buzzing with excitement as they went around to ask their potential partner to be their date for the upcoming prom night event at school.

Amongst the students was a shy Michael who was keen to turn sixteen in a couple of weeks.

Michael studied how the boys in his grade creatively proposed the beautiful girls in school if they could be their walk in date for the prom. Many said yes to be their date and the girls were more than happy to throw themselves at the boys who were lucky to score a beautiful girl for the night.

Michael wanted to join in the frenzy but his meek character couldn't push him to do so. And so he remained glued against the rusty metal door of his locker with his books pressed against his chest.

Without realising it, a classmate of his approached Michael in hopes of asking him out to be her date.

The poor girl had to clear her throat to catch his undivided attention. Michael was quick to notice the girl in braids. The girl Michael fancied at the time.

"Hey Haley, I didn't see you there," Michael apologised in his best manners.

"That's okay, I was being too quiet that's all," she told him so. Michael grinned and appreciated the fact that a pretty girl was speaking to a guy whose face was covered in acne. "I don't think we really talked."

"No not really," Michael agreed. He'd only seen her in Biology class where she sits just across the room. "My name is Michael," he introduced himself with his hand over his chest.

Haley giggled and nodded her head, "Yeah I know. We have Biology together."

Michael shied away by hiding his face behind his textbooks but Haley remained giggling for a little bit after.

"Oh Michael, you're so cute. I don't understand why you don't have a group of girls surrounding you right now."

This made Michael become more embarrassed as his cheeks began to burn up.

"I'm not that good looking," he mumbled behind his books. Haley just adored his small genuine reaction to his compliment.

"You know I'm also glad that you don't get to receive that much attention," she admitted. Michael peeked from his books and looked at her with just one eye. He then asked in disbelief, "Why? Is it because I look funny enough? Are you planning to make fun of me like the other girls, Haley?"

Haley actually didn't know that Michael had been teased about his looks. From afar, she always thought that Michael had a good looking face. Despite of his hatred over his flaws in his looks, Haley have a sort of attraction to Michael, and it was a shame that Michael couldn't see that he could make a girl swoon over him.

With a deep breath in, Haley bravely grabbed Michael's hand. Michael looked down at where her hand was and it again made him feel hot in the cheeks.

"Come with me and I'll show you."

Michael nodded his head and he let this pretty girl who sits across the classroom from him in Biology to take him wherever she wanted to go.
