"Love comes in mysterious ways."

I slowly maneuvered the car up the driveway of my former two-story home and parked the car with the nose facing right outside the garage. I turned everything off including the lights, air-con, and the engine and shrugged Samantha gently so she could wake up.

"We're here," I shook her with my one hand on her shoulder until she was able to steadily open her eyes, her makeup evidently smudged and worn off. She stirred and groaned as she struggled to get up from her nap. "Where are we?"

"We're at my house—well—the house I've left a long time ago," I spoke enthusiastically until I realized how long it had been since I slept a night here. The house was under Mother's name but to be honest, I was not sure exactly who owned this house now.

Still, a sleepy Samantha was struggling to get up and untangle herself from her seat belt. I then got out of the car and walked over to her side to help her out. As soon as I opened her door, I immediately unbuckled her seat belt and instructed Samantha to hang on to my neck.

"No..." she protested at first, but I insisted on carrying her to the door since her ability to walk a straight line was preserved for now.

"C'mon Samantha, we got to," I caressed her head and face, her cheek leaned on my hand and I brushed it delicately with my thumb to relax her. I placed her hands around my neck when she didn't bother to say anything back and then I supported her back and legs right after so I could carry her to the door bridal style.

When we reached the door, I had to make Samantha stand on her two bare feet for a moment so that I could get the keys to unlock the house. However, the second I made Samantha stand on her own, she tells me that she doesn't feel good and pukes on the ground, herself and on me also. Too bad those paracetamol pills didn't take effect sooner as thought tonight.

"Awww baby, that's not very nice," I said coming out as distressed to her as she finished up her load. When she was done, she leaned her body on me and apologized weakly. "I don't know how many I had. They were all delicious, with no cost!"

I held on to her head whilst she was leaning against my chest and gave her a forehead kiss. An automatic smile played on my lips. "We'll get you cleaned up once we get inside, alright?"

Samantha nodded her head and I took her inside and straight to the bathroom. Supporting her all throughout the journey, especially when she had to climb up the stairs.

"I'll start up the bath first and then I'll leave you here all alone." Yeah, you know, for your privacy.

I then made Samantha sit down on the edge of the bathtub and gave her a glass of water to drink from as I started up her bath. I leaned my hands around the tub's brim and watched the warm water from the tap slowly filling up the tub, the sound of running water calming both of us rather. I sighed to myself when I was done staring, the reek of vomit, despite the actual vomit already wiped off of my clothes, intensified as it dried on my shoes and pants.

"You are still married," she randomly brought up followed by tiny sobs. Bewildered over how she managed to know about it the whole time, I moved closer to Samantha's end of the bathtub and sat next to her. "You made me feel so dirty," she added, her vocals squeaky.
