Pushing insistingly on the button to get myself up the building, I watched as if this method would've brought the elevator down to the current floor faster. My blood rushed tremendously due to the quickened pace of my heart beat, in which I could feel it hammering in my chest.

I rubbed on the spot where the pulsing was at its strongest as the double doors separated for me to enter, however, if only I had my phone with me this whole time, I would've tried to call or text him that I was on my way to see him, since he doesn't often come down to see me anymore.

Perhaps he did tried to reach out last night with my phone foolishly left behind the apartment by me, though I did remembering putting my phone in the purse this whole time.

I would've left the girls earlier if I did, or if I indeed had too much to drink, I would've not known about it until later when the night was over. Regardless of how it should've happened, my mind often shifted back to what happened last night and this morning. If I ever received a reason to go home earlier last night and not gotten so drunk, would I have lost my virginity to Michael that night?

Just thinking about it made my head spin too much. Probably based on the fact that I drank way past my very small limit. Fucking hangovers gave me hell alright.

I then pressed on my floor after a swipe of my key card and decided to worry about the Michael stuff later when my brother that I had not seen in what feels like forever had came over to visit for Christmas, which I found sweet of him, whatever the reason.

Marching through the quiet hallway in my heels as my only pair of shoes from last night, despite them actually hurting my toes, I had quickly made it inside, and right away, I searched the entire room for any sign of Thomas or Karen if she didn't have work that day.

Just as I was hoping to see a single human being in here, I found the entire place empty and well tidied up. Karen must've done that before she left for her work. Even though she was typically a messy girl, cleaning up must've kept her mind busy especially last night's quarrel.

The next thing I checked around the apartment was my phone. Shortly, I found it sitting on top of my neatly made bed in my room. I turned it on to notice multiple missed calls from Thomas himself at around one am last night, the last attempted phone call at almost four am, three hours later. A plethora of texts that expressed his concern like how he stopped by at the old apartment to see me only to found out that I wasn't living there anymore.

Poor guy. Must've been dead worried after not hearing much from me, especially when the landlady, Miss Major, didn't have an idea where I live now. Though, I should've for cases like Thomas' unexpected pop in.

And so the first thing I did was rummage through my contacts and found Thomas' number, only to finally hit call.

I paced around my bed as I held the phone to my ear, listening to it ringing as it waited for Thomas on his end to pick up the phone soon. Just when I thought Thomas picked up as soon as the rings stopped, the service took me straight to his voicemail, however, I didn't hang up right away.
