CHAPTER 32

I open my eyes to a very bright light I blink a few times I look at my surrounding I am laying down in a forest so beautiful I stand up and look around there are flowers everywhere a lake so crystal-clear birds chirping above me I see a big willow tree that has a swing. I sit down and swing away looking up at the blue sky. I feel like a kid again from a far distance I hear giggling noises I jump off the swing and look over to the area just covered in sunflowers. I see a little girl with skin white as snow the rosiest red checks with long black hair and the greenest eyes. She giggles and runs away. I chase her through the sunflowers she giggles as she runs "Mommy you can't catch me". Those words hit me like a lighten bolt I look down at my stomach I am no longer pregnant then the memories hit me Mitch the café, bleeding hospital am I dead.

MITCH POV

Jessica is in a coma and if she doesn't wake up in the next couple days there will be serious complications for herself and the baby. At the moment, her family is in the room with her while I am on my tenth cup of coffee. Charlotte is asleep on the chair next to me, Jake is pacing up and down. I get up and walk outside for fresh air this is affecting me badly I might lose my first child and Jessica. My phone rings it's my mom.

Mitch your dad is really upset that you just left and didn't say anything we almost lost a big deal. You have to come home.

Mom I can't I need to stay here with Jessica.

Mitch, she is not part of your life why do you keep running back to this girl every time. You have Charlotte now.

It's complicated mom

Then make it uncomplicated you have bigger priorities.

She is 6 months pregnant with my child mom and she is now in a coma and if she doesn't wake up we might lose the baby and herself, mom I don't know what to do.

I break down crying

I am on the next flight out. She says and hangs up.

I wipe my tears and straighten up I walk back into the waiting room, Charlotte now awake.

"MITCH", I turn around to see Jamie-Lynn she runs over to me and hugs me tightly "where is she" I point to the room Jessica in and then she leaves.

"You okay"? I shake my head Charlotte takes my hand and rubs her thumb over it, "she is a strong girl she has overcome so much Mitch she will overcome this".

Jamie-Lynn walks back out of the room. "Mitch, I think she needs you". "But they said only family members are allowed". "You are family now come" she grabs my hand and drags me into the room. Why do I keep seeing Jessica like this in a hospital room this is the 3rd time she is in here and it's all my fault.

Everybody leaves the room it just me and Jessica. I sit on the chair next to her bed I grab her hand.

"Hey Jess you need to wake up and come back to us". I get up and get on the bed with her I lay down and hold her I kiss her cheeks "please wake up Jessica". I lay my head on her stomach. "Hey there little one it's your daddy I need you to help wake up mommy she needs to wake up so we can be a family I promise I will never leave your side". I place my head in Jessica neck and I soon fell asleep.

JESSICA POV

I am on my knees trying to figure out what's happening, I am suddenly tackled over by this little girl she lays on me and laughs away. "I told you mommy you couldn't catch me" she says with the biggest smile ever. A smile so beautiful that lifts your spirits and makes you happy a smile that I've seen before. I am brought out of my thoughts "Mommy what's this called". I stand up and walk over to my daughter that is called a "Sunflower". "It's pwetty, and this one" she runs over to the next patch of flowers, "that is a Lily". "I like the Lily mommy; can you swing me". I pick her up and place her on the swing. "Daddy said you need to wake up mommy, we need to be a family" then she disappears.
