Waking up this morning I phone my PA and tell her to cancel all my appointments I will be working from home. I let Jiana sleep and stay home today. I sit at the counter in the kitchen and do my work.
Jiana walks in looking like the living dead. "Morning why didn't you wake me up for school"?
"Sit down. What has gotten into you Jiana"?
"Why are you interrogating me"?
"You are 14 years old Jiana you doing drugs and having sex with somebody twice your age".
"This is my life if I want to fuck it up then I will fuck it up".
Standing up I walk over to Jiana and she mimics me. She stands in front of me. "Jiana I am your mother and you will respect me".
"I wish you weren't my mother I wish you died it will make my life a whole lot better".
"You don't mean what you saying Jiana. If I am not here one day you will regret ever saying those words."
She rolls her eyes. "I wish my father took me in better yet I wish you had a fucking abortion. I hate you I fucking hate you". She says running out the front door to my mother house. I hold back the tears trying to escape.
I take my phone off the counter I have to phone him, I have no choice. My hand hovering over his number I press call and it rings.
Hello.
Mitch?
Yes, this is Mitch speaking who is this?
It's Jessica.
Jess? How you doing?
Ok I guess.
How is Jiana?
Out of control.
How do you mean Jess?
She is just like her daddy, being the bad girl of the school doing drugs and hooking up with men that is old enough to be your best friend.

Mitch is coming and I suddenly feel the caterpillars that was once in hibernation for the 14 years turn into butterflies. I feel like a kid again. But why am I feeling this way. I am suddenly happy and full of life. I haven't had another guy since well 15 years ago, is that a bad thing I need a serious makeover and some bikini waxing. I text Jiana.
