---Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1965-Friday---

I have never really been one to fight in rumbles. That doesn't mean that I wouldn't or that I don't, but I just don't really see the point of them. The gang and I were really good friends with the Shepard boys, so, therefore, we got asked to come with them to rumbles quite often. That's why I wasn't surprised when I got a call on the home phone at 4:00 in the afternoon.

Tim- "Aye. Y'all doing anything tonight?"

Max- "Nah. You got a rumble?"

Tim- "Yea. Can your gang make it tonight?"

Max- " Yea tell me the info."

Tim- "6:30 at the lot behind the drive in."

Max- "Alright, see you there at 6:28."

"Who was that?" asked Dani.

"Tim," I replied.

"Rumble?" asked Ray, as she turned down the volume of Mickey Mouse on the TV.

"Yea, everyone get ready. I'm in the mood to beat some Soc ass." I replied as I put the phone down.

"That's my girl!" yelled Jess, as she plopped down her 10-pound weight and jumped up.

Shortly everyone jumped up from what they were doing and started to change for the rumble. Me and Kat lived in a two-story house with three bedrooms. Since Jess and Ray technically didn't have a home, this is also where they stayed, and Dani was our neighbor. Ray, Jess, and Dani ran up the stairs to Jess' room and they all got ready together. Meanwhile, I went down the hall to Kat's room to go wake her up from her 3:00 nap.

"Hey Kat. Wake up." I said as I walked into her room and sat next to her on her bed.

"Huh?" she mumbled tiredly, looking up at me through sleepy eyes.

"Me and the gang are going to a rumble. Will you be alright here until we get back?" I asked her.

"Yea. I'll be fine." she said, and then I stood up, "But don't get hurt."

"I won't," I replied with a smile, and then I headed upstairs to my room.

Once I got into my room I pulled my leather jacket out of my closet, my black t-shirt out of my drawer, and my beat up Converse and ripped jeans out from under my bed. I always liked to wear my "rumble clothes" since I looked like a badass in them. I pulled on my jeans first, then I put on my shirt and jacket. After that, I put on some black mascara, tied a red bandana around my face to cover up my nose and mouth, and put my hair into a tight ponytail. Once I was done with my outfit, I took a step back and looked at myself in the mirror. To any eye, I probably looked hot and badass, but when I looked at myself all I could think of was my parents. I had the beautiful face of my father: the same face shape, the same smile, the same button nose, and the same eye shape. I also had some features of my mom's, however: dark eyes, brown hair, big thighs, and soft-looking lips. I stood there looking in the mirror for a minute when I suddenly got interrupted.

"Hey. You ready to go?" asked Jess peeping her head in.

"Uh.. oh yeah, let's go," I replied in a slightly startled voice.

Then me and Jess headed downstairs and met Dani and Ray at the front door.

I pulled down my bandana and shouted,  "Who's ready to kick ass?"

"Whoooo Whooop Whoooooo!" yelled Ray.

"Yassssssssss!" shouted Dani.

"Let's kill'um," yelled Jess, and then we were out the door.
