I woke up the next day at 11:00 in the afternoon. Just as I had expected, my head and side felt like they were on fire. I usually wasn't in pain like this after fights or rumbles, but I figured it would wear off soon since my body was still shook up about being knocked out. I stood up, yawned, made my bed, and walked over to the desk in my room.  I then scrambled through three different drawers before I could find my bottle of aspirin.  I took the bottle out of the desk drawer and poured three of them into the cap and swallowed them down, painfully, one by one. I closed the lid tightly and then stuck the bottle back into my drawer quickly and then I headed downstairs to see what everyone else was up to.

"Well, would ya look at who finally decided to join the party!" shouted Jess, lifting her weights in the living room.

"Did you get your beauty sleep, Your Highness?" asked Dani walking over to me and giving me a playful punch in the arm.

"Matter of fact, I did," I said. Then I walked into the kitchen and took a look in the fridge, hoping for a Coke or something decent to eat. Of course, however, there was almost nothing inside the fridge.

"Oh yeah, we ate everything in the fridge, so Kat and Ray walked to the market to buy more food," said Jess finally standing up.

"Good God, you people are animals," I said sarcastically, shaking my head slowly.

"It ain't my fault that you just happened to have better food in your house than I did in mine," said Dani chuckling.

"No one can argue with that," Jess added, and then we all burst out into laughter.

It was 11:58 when Kat and Ray finally came back from the store with five full bags of groceries. And soon, it was finally time for me to make lunch for everyone and get my first meal of the day. I made everyone help put the groceries away while I started making grilled cheese sandwiches and cutting up peaches. Eventually, the girls were done putting away the groceries after a few minutes and they went back to doing what they usually did. They all went into the living room and watched Mickey Mouse on the floor and couch, except for Kat, who was cleaning off the table which was unusual because she hated to clean.

"Hey, Kat, you alright?" I asked, attempting to flip the sandwiches.

"Yeah, um... everything's fine," she replied, staring at the table.

"Did something happen?" I asked taking the last sandwich off of the stove and putting it onto a plate with the rest of them.

"It's just, I saw you smoking last night, Max. You promised me you wouldn't do it anymore, and then you went and broke your promise," she said turning and looking me deeply into the eyes.

"Kat, I know what I promised, but you don't understand. Ever since mom and dad left, it's the only thing that keeps me calm when I'm worked up."

"What were you worked up about last night then?" she asked, suddenly looking very concerned.

"Y-you wouldn't understand Kathryn," I said and then I grabbed the food and five plates and put them onto the table.

"Hey, guys. Food's ready!" I yelled over the sound of Micky's voice, and soon all of the girls came walking into the kitchen and sitting down to lunch.

While they were all getting situated I grabbed four Cokes and a glass of water out of the fridge and put them onto the table.

"But Max, you never finished my-" started Kat.

"We'll talk about it later, maybe. Now drink your water."

"But-"

"I said drink your water." I then death glared Kat and took a seat right in between Jess and Ray.
