Chapter 7

Annabeth P.O.V.

I woke up to the sound of my maid calling my name. 

"Annabeth, are you awake yet?"

"Umm... yeah I am, " I said.

"King Fredrick and Queen Athena have requested that you come downstairs for breakfast and to prep you for the council meeting, "she said.

"Oh okay, I'll be right down, "I told her.

I changed into a dress and rushed downstairs not caring if I didn't brush my hair since it's always cascading down my back.

I greeted my parents and older brother Malcolm then started eating.

"Good morning Annabeth. Will you be attending the meeting with us today? "my mother asked me.

"Umm...I don't know actually. My friends might just make me take a walk around the 

kingdom," I replied.

My parents smiled. Knowing that I had a lot on my plate lately and I really do need a break.

After breakfast, my friends burst in through the doors only to pull me out of my chair, greet my parents, and drag me out the door. 

Once we were outside the castle, Piper handed me a cloak.

"Here put this on, "she said.

"Uh. What's this Piper? "I asked her.

"Oh, it's a disguise, since you are the princess you have to wear a disguise for your safety, "Piper explained.

I frowned knowing she was right but I thought it was dumb.

We started to walk to the village since we didn't want to be seen as royalty we didn't get on a carriage.

We enjoyed the views of the village in silence until Rachel spoke up.

"You guys! Put your tiaras away or people will recognize you, "Rachel said like it was obvious.

"Oh yea thanks Rachel, "I said.

We put them in our purses and continued to enjoy the view.

When the sun was starting to set, my friends were leaving one by one until it was only me.

I was just about to leave myself when I heard a woman's yelp.

I turned around to see a man trying to steal the woman's purse.

"Hey! STOP! "I screamed.

The man turned around and looked at me.

He smirked and let go of the woman's purse but he started to walk towards me.

"I'll stop bothering her and start bothering you instead. "

He cornered me to the wall and told me"give me the bag, "he demanded.

He got close to me. Too close to my liking.

"No. I will not, "I defended.

"We're going to this the easy way or the hard way, "he threatened.

"I won't give you this bag, "I said.

"Sootch yourself, "he said as he took a knife out from his pocket and raised it.

This is the end I thought 

Goodbye mom, dad, Malcolm, Piper, Thalia, Rachel.

Goodbye.

I kept thinking of the same words until I heard a scream.

"HEY!!! LEAVE HER ALONE!!! "
