Chapter 12

Annabeth P.O.V.

When I got back to the castle, I noticed that King Poseidon and Queen Sally and my parents were still in the council room discussing ways to avoid war. I decided to go inside and take a look and maybe. Just maybe volunteer to talk.

I knocked on the door and went inside.

It was quiet and all eyes were on me.

"Hello, King Poseidon. Queen Sally, "I addressed.

"Ah, Princess Annabeth of Athens. What brings you here today? "King Poseidon asked me.

"Annabeth is fine your highness. And I was just back from my walk and decided to check up on the meeting, "I explained.

"Well, it's a pleasure for you of you to join us Annabeth," Queen Sally said with a warm smile.

"The pleasure is all mine," I said returning the smile.

I sat down in an empty chair and they continued the meeting.

We were about to address the compromise when I realized the time.

"Excuse me your highnesses but I will be getting to bed now, "I said.

"Well, good night Annabeth, " King Poseidon said.

I said my 'Goodnights' then went to my room.

When I closed my door I heard a noise.

"Who's there? "I said.

"It's me, Luke, " Luke said.

"Oh hey, Luke. What are you doing here this late? " I asked.

"Oh, I just never see you anymore so I decided to come to see you, " he explained.

I had never realized that until now because I was always with Percy.

"Oh yeah," I said.

He came over to me and leaned in to kiss me.

The kiss didn't feel magical anymore.

I was just a kiss.

Luckily Luke didn't notice.

"I have to go now. Bye Annie, " he said.

"Night and don't call me Annie," I said with a giggle.

He smiled and went out the window.

Why didn't that kiss send butterflies flying in my stomach like the others he gave me.

Was it because I was tired?

Maybe because I'm not as in love with him as before?

Was it because of Percy?

Am I in love with Percy Jackson?
