Why oh Why did the bluebird cry

the Night lark watches with wings open wide

They soar between worlds, high and low

never resting or going slow

The birds are free, uncaged

Here in the darkness I must stay

I am a prisoner of time

It's because of you here I reside

I wait I wail

Off flies the quail

I'm grounded, as rooted as the trees

Only survived by my dreams

Why oh Why did the river run high

The morning finch watched the tide

They soared overhead as I was pulled below

The taste of water is stronger than the weeping willow

My brothers as different as day and night

like the birds they take to flight

They leave, they run,

but I wont let them forget what they have done

Why oh Why did they make an enemy of me?

These are the words they will sing

They will beg for their lives as I bring them to their knees

They will know then my suffering

But for now I must wait

As patient as the tawny owl

As still as the wolf who howls

I hide in the shadow

Why oh Why brothers?

did you make an enemy of me.
