Chapter 3 - We're here...

A/N- Sooooo.... hehe... um... yeah. So I'm a huge liar(that's an understatement) anyways I'm thinking that I'll just finish up this chapter and stop because I am just really really really unreliable. So if anyone wants to continue this story just message me and give me the link and I'll post it as the next chapter. If no one picks it up I might continue it but I wouldn't update frequently. Thanks and sorry for taking so long I honestly don't have a good excuse and even if I did I wouldn't want to bore you with the details. ON WITH THE STORY!!

Lance's POV

We finally arrived at the Sphinx. It was dark out because when we came earlier there were too many people so we decided to try coming after viewing hours. Pidge had gotten footage from the security cameras and put it on loop so nothing looked suspicious, while keith and shiro were knocking out the gaurds (does the Sphinx have cameras or gaurds IDK). Allura, Hunk, Pidge and I were waiting for the 'all clear' signal from shiro and Keith. After shiro used a flashlight with the Voltron symbol on it, that Pdge and I thought up and her and hunk made, we all met up at the front of the Sphinx. "So Allura... how do we know who will be the pilot? Or even get it to work?" I asked looking for some answers on what to do next. "Okay paladins, remember when we did the mind melding training? Imagine you and the Sphinx both have the head sets on and try to feel a connection. All of you might have a small conection to it but the Sphinx will choose one of you based on how strong your connection is." After the princess summed it up I still had some questions, "How will we know who it chooses?" Allura seemed to be caught off gaurd as if she thought she already explained it but based on everyone elses expressions she came to the conclusion that she had forgatten to do so. "Well Lance, since the Sphinx is the head of Auupega Sili so whoever it chooses should have a tattoo like symbol appear on their forhead it will differ depending on the person. It should reflect their inner self." 'well shit' I thought to my self. This should be fun. I really hope it's not me. As I try to feel the connection as Allura told us to I start to feel a dull ache all over. All of a suden everything the Sphinx has ever experienced popped into my head at once it felt like I got hit upside the head with a baseball bat. Afterwords I felt a burning  sensation on my forehead  I start to scream from the searing pain 'shit'. I soon collapse to the ground hearing everyones shouts and then everything goes black.

Shiro's POV(a few seconds prior)

As I started to feel for a conection with the sphinx I hear Lance scream in pain. As I look over at Lance to see if he's okay he collapses.Everyone shouts his name seeing him fall. I go to catch him but hunk beats me to it. I crouch down next to Hunk who is holding Lance in his lap. As I get closer I notice a glowing coming from his forehead.'I guess we know who the next head is' I thought to myself as everyone else came running over. Not much longer after the smell of burning flesh hits my nostrils causing me to gag. I'm surprised Hunk hasn't thrown up yet. I quickly figure out the smell is coming from Lance's mark. I look to Allura to see if she knew this is how the mark would appear, she has a guilty expression on her face which tells me she knew but didn't tell us. I felt anger welling up inside me, "I'm guessing you knew this would happen Alllura? Why didn't you tell us it would be burnt into our skin?" Allura looked even more guilty than she did if that was even possible. "I didn't think any of you would do it if I told you..." "Allura we would have done it either way but we should at least know if were going to get hurt. Just tell us next time okay?" Allura nodded still feeling guilty. "Alright our first priority is to make sure Lance is okay. Lets go back to the castle and let him rest. We will take turns watching over him. Okay?" I hear a couple 'yes's and 'sure's hear and there. As Hunk picks up Lance to take him back to the lions we here a loud grumble and the ground shakes knocking pidge and keith down leaving the rest of us to catch our balance. I look behind me for the cause of the shaking and see the Sphinx standing up in all of it's glory. Soon the sphinx starts to shake like a big hairy dog getting out of the bath except insted of water sand goes everywhere. When I look up again I see the Sphinx not made out of sand as we originally thought but instead made of a shiny gold-like substance. While we were all staring at the sphinx in suprise it then lowered it's head like it wants us to go in.' I guess it want us to take Lance to it.' Once we all get over the initial shock we walk up to the sphinx and go in. Inside of the mouth near the back there was a door around the size of the one on the outside of the castle ship. Hunk walked closer to the door with Lance still in his arms and then the door opened. The first thing I see when we enter is...

A/N

Alright sooo yeah if you read the note at the top you probably know I don't plan on continuing this story. However if no one wants to pick this up I might. If I do end up continuing this I need a ship to go with so if anyone has any ideas please comment them. I wasn't planning on doing Shance when I wrote this chapter but I think I unintentionally made Shance have a better chance(see what I did there?) by switching to Shiro's POV and making him angry soooo yeah. Any Ideas? anyway byeeeeeee.
