I'm pretty sure every young adult has heard of the popular CW tv show 'Riverdale.' If not quick synopsis:
'Riverdale' is a small town that has a lot of drama. There is the core four: Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones, Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge. The show pretty much is about the core four solving the death of Jason Blossom. They're like the Scooby-Doo gang by wayyyyy more dramatic and corny at some times. Other characters that are important are Cheryl Blossom, Kevin Keller, Josie McCoy, Reggie Mantle, Toni Topaz, Sweet Pea and Fangs Fogarty.
The first season is surround by the murder of Jason Blossom and who killed him. The second season is highkey a mess, but it's mainly about Jughead joining the Serpents (a gang that resides in the Southside of Riverdale), Betty finding out that she has a older brother named Chic and the Black Hood killing 'sinners.' And so far the third season is about this addictive game that has been killing people called 'Griffins and Gargoyles."
The first season of Riverdale was GREAT! It was very enjoyable and was a pretty decent teen drama show. The season had 13 episodes, just enough for the audience to get hooked on the mystery of who killed Jason Blossom, Cheryl's twin brother, but not too much for us to feel like the show is dragging. We got just enough of each character and I instantly fell in love with Josie and the pussycats. I think what made 'Riverdale' appealing was the actors and the way they delivered their lines. The ending was a huge plot twist and created a great cliffhanger for the 2nd season. Some of the actors are attractive as well as very likable on and off screen. There aren't many teen drama/mystery shows on television so I think it was a nice change from the average reality show and doctor show. I didn't have much to complain about for this season.
The second season of Riverdale is good/bad. It's good because we got introduced to the Serpents: Toni, Sweet Pea and Fangs. We got some background on the Southside and actually got to empathize with the Southsiders because they were always blamed for any crime that was committed in both the Southside and in the Northside. It was bad because the story line about the Black hood was dragged out and not necessary to last for 23 episodes. The revealing of who the Black Hood was was kind of shocking, but the way it was handle was very lazy. (Possible spoilers!!!)
The ending of season 2 was highkey rushed and not shocking. I wish the writers would look at the fans criticism and take note and try to fix the scripts. Because honestly the dialogue that the characters have with each other doesn't seem authentic. The vernacular Veronica and Cheryl use when speaking to each other or other characters sometimes doesn't even sound natural nor does it sound like what actual high schoolers sound like. Also sometimes we forget that the cast is even portraying high schoolers. Not being shady or anything, but on occassion some of the actors don't even look like high schoolers let alone sophomores/juniors.
The third season has started and so far it is a hot mess. I can't even keep up with the plot lines anymore. This season has a lot of people pressing the writers on giving Josie, Kevin, Toni, Cheryl and Reggie more screen time. I've been asking for this as well because we get enough from the core four and I want to see the other main characters.
