Sketching was always a hobby of mine. For some reason, I had a knack for sketching people that don't even exist. It was always scary, yet exciting to see what my mind would come up with. More often then not, I ended up sketching boys-well, this one particular boy.
This boy was beautiful, with blonde hair, brown eyes, full lips. He was small and soft, but he also had this sexy aura about him. I don't why he keeps popping in my mind; he doesn't even exist. Still, I decided to name him Park Jimin. For some reason, I wished he was real.
I don't really have any friends other than Seokjin, but he's more like a man-mom than a friend. Still, I love him and he puts up with my shit. Self-harm has always been something I needed to stop, and Jin's been trying to help. I'm stubborn. My arms are littered with small, shallow cuts. I hate myself for it, but nothing else really helps. But maybe if Jimin was real, he could help.

"Kookie, dinner's ready!" Jin yelled from the hallway, just as I finished another sketch of Jimin. He was sitting in a window on a cool, clear night. The window was open, and the white curtains flapped around him as he mindlessly pet the cat in his lap. I modeled it after my own bedroom window. I left it on the desk by the window as I walked out of my room and into the kitchen.
Jin already made me a plate and was happily eating from his own plate at the island. "Hey. How was work?" I asked him, sitting across from him. "Awful. There was this guy-Kim Namjoon, I think-who kept flirting with me, telling me I was beautiful. But he's a total thug, what does he know?" Jin huffed, taking a bite of beef. I just smiled and rolled my eyes. "Hyung, you are beautiful. You could be a movie star if you wanted, and they wouldn't need to put makeup on you. You're gorgeous," I replied, earning a small smile. "Thanks, Kookie. Love you."
After dinner, Jin and I sat on the sofa for our usual Friday Movie Night. He apparently got the idea from his friends Taehyung and Hoseok, who were actually a couple. I didn't mind it; cuddling Jin and watching Iron Man was always fun.
A little bit after the movie started, Jin looked down at me. "Oh, how's your dream man?" he teased, a smirk forming. I blushed and cuddled deeper into his chest, earning a small laugh. "Hyung, don't call him that!" I whined, weakly landing a punch on his side. "Yah, don't be mean. I'm only messing with you." Jin returned to watching the rest of the movie and mindlessly petting the back of my head like always.
-------
I guess I fell asleep, because I woke up in my own bed, morning light shining in through my open window. Sometimes, I'd fall asleep on Jin, and he'd put me in bed. He's great like that.
This morning, someone was humming. I checked the time, 9:04am. Jin is normally still asleep. Who's humming? "Oh, did I wake you? I'm sorry." I nearly screamed when I heard that voice. It was a guy's voice, but it was slightly high-pitched and innocent. I turned to the window to find a blonde boy sitting there, one leg lazily hanging off the edge, toes not even touching the wood floor. He was absolutely beautiful and oddly familiar.
"J-Jimin?" I asked cautiously, my voice cracking a little. The boy smiled and nodded. "That's the name you gave me. Park Jimin, age twenty-two, born 13 October 1995. I decided my age. I'm your hyung, Jungkookie!" he said happily, giving me the cutest eyesmile I had ever seen. I sat up in bed, still in slight shock. "You-you're real? I don't understand..." I trailed off, shaking my head and rushing over to my desk. My latest sketch of Jimin was still there, but the cat was curled up in the window and Jimin was nowhere in sight.
Except right in front of me.
"Please don't freak out. Let me explain," Jimin pleaded, standing up from the window and walking over to me. He really was smaller than me; perfect hugging height. He wrapped his arms around my neck and smiled a reassuring smile. "Um, do you want some breakfast first?" I asked, slowly bringing my hands up to nudge him off of me. Jimin pouted a little, but he nodded with a smile. "Sure, Jungkookie."
Jimin sat on the island counter and quietly ate cheerios, humming to himself a little. "Good morn-Kook, who is that?" Jin asked sleepily, freezing in the kitchen doorway. Jimin looked up from his cereal and smiled. "Hi, I'm Park Jimin. Are you Jungkook's roommate?" he asked. Jin looked at me, wide-eyed. "Park Jimin, as in the boy in your sketches?" Jin asked me. I sighed, "I'm just as shocked and confused as you, Jin-hyung."
"I have a lot of explaining to do, don't I?" Jimin pouted, staring at his empty bowl, which Jin took from him and set it in the sink. "Yeah. You do," I said quietly, leaning against the island counter neck to Jimin. He scooted closer to me and rested his head on my shoulder. This time, I didn't move and let Jimin do what he wanted. For some reason, I was already getting used to him.
Jin stared at us with a raised eyebrow. "He's existed for literally thirty minutes and you're already letting him cuddle you?" he asked. "It's actually been two hours, Jin-hyung. Wait, is Jungkook your boyfriend?" Jimin asked, lifting his head from my shoulder. Jin and I both scoffed and made faces. "Hyung is like my mom. And I piss him off too much to be his boyfriend," I said, staring down at Jimin's cute fingers.
-------
After breakfast, Jimin decided to explain. We sat on the couch, while Jimin decided to sit in my lap. I didn't mind; he was light and soft. "Okay, so Jungkook always would draw me. And the more he drew me, the more real I became. He gave me a name, and he wished I was real. So, I decided to make his wish come true. I left his latest sketch, since he seemed to like this version of me the best. Plus, I was tired of watching him cry and hurt himself. I was tired of seeing how...lifeless he was. Now that I'm here, he isn't lonely anymore."
By the time he was finished, I was crying quietly into his back. Everything he said was true. I was so tired of hurting myself, so tired of having no real friends, so tired of being lonely. I really was lifeless, and I guess Jimin had enough. "Oh, Jungkookie..." he whispered, wiping my tears away gently.
"Jimin, you don't have to love me. You know that, don't you?" I said quietly, loosening my accidental death-grip on him. "Jungkook, if I didn't want to love you, I would have stayed in your sketch. Let me love you," Jimin said sweetly, but sternly. Jin just shrugged. "He has a point." And he did have a point. After a minute or so of silence, I just nodded gently. "Alright, Jimin." I don't think I've ever been hugged so tight in my life.
-------
Living with Jimin was strange, but fun. Jin and I slowly got used to him. My favorite part of living with Jimin was waking up next to him every morning. He was so beautiful; hair everywhere, a small smile on his sleeping face. The morning light reflected off of his skin, giving him an otherworldly glow. Jimin loved curling into my side, so we'd always wake up spooned together. It was great.
Jin loved Jimin because he wanted to learn how to cook. "Someone appreciates me enough to learn my skills. Unlike you, uncultured swine," Jin said one morning as he and Jimin made pancakes. I rolled my eyes while Jimin nearly dropped a pancake on the ground he was laughing so hard.
Dates were few and far between, but Jimin didn't mind. He said the simple things like grocery shopping or getting takeout counted as dates, too. As long as we were together, Jimin didn't mind. I appreciated him.
Tonight, Jin finally agreed to go on a date with Namjoon (after Jimin convinced him that looks may be misleading), leaving us alone for the night. "Kookie, what do you want to do?" Jimin asked from his spot on the bed, wrapped up in a yellow blanket. I shrugged and grinned, towering over him. "What do you want to do, baby?" I asked, smiling at Jimin's blush.
"Can we just cuddle?" he asked shyly. I flopped onto the bed next to him, earning a light giggle. He crawled on top of me when I rolled onto my back. "So silly, Jungkookie," he said, shaking his head. I felt his fingers trace over my scars, and he frowned. "It's okay, Jungkookie. You won't have to do this anymore," he said, lacing our fingers together. I just smiled. "I haven't done it since you escaped your sketch."
"Honestly, I forgot that I was just an idea."
"Honestly, you're the best idea I've ever had."
