It had been about six years since Park Jimin, founder and leader of the Kitty Gang, successfully escaped the Inferno with the help of his unsuspecting guard, Officer Kim Namjoon.

What everyone working at the Inferno didn't know was that during their short time together, they had fallen hard for one another.

A month after Jimin's escape, Namjoon asked to be moved back to Seoul; the stupid chief of police didn't even consider one of his own was in kahoots with an enemy to society -- well, an enemy of society in his eyes. The paperwork was filed and Namjoon was moved to a police station in Seoul.

Namjoon found Jimin almost immediately thanks to all the clues he left behind, and it took a rough encounter with his second-in-command, a blue-haired maniac named Kim Taehyung, for him to be brought to Jimin's hidden penthouse.

The gang leader was incredibly smart, smarter than what he was given credit for. He had bought a run-down apartment building to rennovate. Unsuspecting civilians took up residence, some of whom had no knowledge of the gang or the man who supposedly owned the building. Jimin resided there on the highest floor, which he turned into a glorious penthouse.

Another year passed before Jimin and Namjoon got married.

Jimin told Namjoon time and time again that he didn't need to keep working, that he could support him financially, but understood why Namjoon wanted to keep being a cop. It had been Namjoon's dream since he was eight, and he kept everyone off of Jimin's tail for the most part. Jimin only destroyed the dreams of those who deserved it; his husband definitely didn't deserve it.

Their relationship was a constant adrenaline rush, but they wouldn't have it any other way.

"Kim!" an officer yelled, effectively gaining Namjoon's attention.

They were currently in the middle of a shootout, started by one of the younger members of Kitty Gang because she panicked and accidentally fired. Jimin was definitely in the area and most likely took off the second he heard the gunshot. Namjoon knew how his husband worked.

"Go find him!" the officer barked, gesturing towards an alley to their left.

Namjoon took off, keeping a careful eye out for Jimin's lackeys and the man himself. Jimin would probably be up on the roof, so he kept his eyes up and gun held in front of him. The alley his collegue made him enter was part of an alley system; dumpsters sat against the walls every few feet, trash lay everywhere, and occasionally the rustling of a stray dog or cat could be heard in the distance.

Other than that, it was eerily silent, and that was what Namjoon hated. As long as there was noise, action, he had no reason to be afraid. He could lead his men away from his husband if there was noise. Silence meant someone was watching Namjoon, and by the way the hairs on the back of his neck stood, someone definitely was.

By the time he stopped walking, the shootout was nothing but faint pops followed by incoherent shouts from both gang members and police.

He put his gun back in his holster and sighed. "Baby."

Footsteps descended from above, getting closer and closer until they were slow, measured thuds of boots hitting the pavement behind Namjoon. A gentle hand rested on his back, then a pair of lips met the back of his neck. "Hey, Joonie."

A small smile washed across the officer's face as Jimin walked around to face him, standing toe-to-toe with the one he loved the most in this world. He still looked as beautiful as ever, a smug smile on his face as slight irritation flashed through his dangerous eyes.
