Mikasa's POV

"What do you think about this?" Annie asked me.
I turned around to look at the part of the store where my blonde friend was at. She gestured towards a bag that I could use as a book bag. I nodded in approval. She then held it for me. "Mika!" I heard Krista call me from across the store. "Coming!" I responded and followed her voice.

Ever since Eren confronted me about the letter and said that he'd approve of it, Annie and Krista insisted on us going shopping. I hadn't been too keen on it and neither was Ymir, but since they insisted we eventually gave in and obliged. So, currently, we were at the mall buying clothes and such.

"What do you think?" Krista asked me whilst holding up a long sleeved, casual dress.
"Hmm, I don't know."
"Please. Just at least try it on." She begged.
I sighed. "Fine."
Once we were finished looking for clothes and I was trying them on and asking for the girls opinion on each one, it had taken me 5 minutes, but I was finally on the last piece of clothing. The dress that Krista has handed me a couple of minutes ago was what it was. Reluctantly, I pulled the dress of my torso and wore the long sleeved apparel.

I was looking at my reflection in the mirror before leaving the room to ask for my friends' opinion when I couldn't help but gawk dumbfounded at my frontal appearance. The dress was a beautiful, rich navy blue dress in color with a floral pattern and sleeves that would end at my elbow with its length was just barely lapping over to my knees. "You okay in there, Mika? Do you need help?" Krista asked me. "N-no. I'm fine." I responded. I left the room, finally revealing myself and my outfit to my friends.
"Holy- goddamn, Mikasa." Ymir said in a complimenting way. "You look fine."
"Oh my God! No wonder Eren dates you!" Annie exclaimed.
"Aww, Mikasa! You look do cute!!" Krista glowed.

I blushed at my friends compliments. I've never been showered in such nice, comforting words before. Not even with Eren. So just knowing that there is someone out there who thinks that I'm important kind of makes my terrible childhood  memories fade away.
"Thanks you guys." I smiled. "I'm gonna buy it." I decided. Krista gave me a thumbs up whilst the others nodded, Annie's nodded more enthusiastic than Ymir's. Then, I went back into the changing room and put my normal clothes back on. After girls and I bought the clothing, me paying for mine and them paying for theirs, we decided to refuel at the food court. We went, and I got sushi with Krista and Annie while Ymir, the only one who didn't get sushi, ordered a burger. We were sitting down and eating our food.

"When are you leaving?" Krista asked.
"A couple of weeks." I admitted.
"Aww, that's so soon." Krista huffed.
"I'll be back for a few holidays next year. Since it's late December right now and Christmas already passed I won't be here for New Year's. I'll be leaving the week before."
"But still.." Krista whined.
Anne and I giggled slightly while Ymir finally came back to our table once she got her burger. I used my chopsticks to pick up my last piece of sushi and placed it in my mouth. Then, I grabbed my empty tray and stood up to trash it. As I was walking towards the trash bin, I heard familiar laughter behind me. So I turned around to face the familiar sound and saw none other than Hanji and Levi. Levi had his arms crossed, as if not having a single care in the world with his stern face, whilst Hanji was laughing softly. She must've found something he said funny.

I looked back to my friends and saw that they were distracted enough for me to have a quick conversation with the soon to be parents. Quickly, I ran up to Hanji and Levi and tapped Levi on the shoulder. He turned around, as did Hanji, and Hanji's face was glowing when she saw me. "Mikasa! Eren told me the news, and I'm super happy for you!!" Hanji cheered, giving me a hug. "Thank you!" I hugged her back

"The baby?" I asked.
"Nice and healthy, apparently." Hanji smiled.
"What about this overgrown baby?" I pointed to Levi who was on his phone.
Hanji laughed and wiped away a fake tear. "Are the Ackerman's always so hilarious." Hanji joked. "Well, to answer your question, Levi has been antsy lately. I'm pretty sure that he's just anxious about becoming a father."
Levi finally looked up from his phone and paid attention to our conversation. "Hey, you're just as antsy four-eyes."
"Haha, sure thing, Levi."

"Mikasa?" I heard Krista call. "Ah, those are my friends. I should probably go back." I said. "Aww, well I'm happy that we had this little chat. Have fun." Hanji waved. I waved back, then walked back to my friends.
"There you are! I thought you got kidnapped or something." Krista sighed.
"Haha, no. Just talking to my godfather, shall we get going?" I asked.
They all nodded, so we left.

We went back to our old apartment for old time's sake, and also because Carla had left at this point and Eren was at work and I wasn't too keen on staying home alone. Call me a child if you want, but that won't change how I feel. Krista, Ymir, and I were making dinner whilst Annie took a shower and got dressed.

I was at the stove cooking up the soup, Krista was at the sink washing vegetables, and Ymir was chopping up the vegetables after they had been washed on a chopping board. When Annie came back, Krista and Ymir went to shower whilst Annie helped me. I had already taken a shower at home.

"Hey, Mika." Annie spoke up, sounding sad.
"Yeah?"
"Do you.. think that Armin would ever propose?"
I was shocked. I've never seen Annie so worried before. I turned around from the stove and looked at Annie's back, since she was facing the sink. I could still see the side of her face, and I could spot.. worry, sadness. As well as everything else in between.
"Annie.." I mused. "of course he would."
"Well I mean, Sasha and Connie are out on their honeymoon and they've been together for 8 years while Armin and I have been together for 6. And.. I don't even know if he's considered proposing." Annie admitted.

"He will." I reassured.
"I'm just.. not so sure." She breathed.
My expression morphed into pity. 'Why would she be so doubtful? He'll propose for sure. I mean.. I just know it. Eren on the other hand.. I'm just not as sure.'
"That's enough." I said, gesturing towards the vegetables. "You can go relax." I suggested.
"Really?" Annie asked. I nodded.
"You seem pretty tense. Just go relax, watch TV. I'll call you once I'm done." I instructed.
Annie reluctantly nodded and she took off her apron and went the living room to go on her phone. I sighed. That conversation made me think.. would Eren ever propose? I mean.. I want him too. But I'd understand if he didn't.

Interrupting my thoughts, Krista and Ymir came back fully dressed and showered. "Time to cook up some grub!" Ymir exclaimed. I nodded and handed her an apron while Krista took her own. Then, we continued to make dinner.
During dinner, Annie shared her dilemma about Armin proposing. Of course, all us three girls could do was try to reassure her with empty promises, but I knew deep down inside that they weren't helping. After a minute or so, we decided to just give it up and enjoy our meals. And I'll admit.. it was awkward. We weren't speaking, just eating. And I could tell that the silence was tearing Annie up on the inside, but there wasn't much more that I could do. So I just held her hand and gave her a reassuring look. She nodded and relaxed her posture as we continued to eat dinner.
