the boys walked into an all day breakfast spot, open 24 hours a day and took the table right by the window.
jungkook was having so much fun earlier, that the idea of having to tell them how much time he was left with had completely slipped his mind.
until, he checked his phone and saw the messages from his friends.

his friends next to him at the table noticed how his face fell once he took out his phone, and decided to ask him about it.
" hey, kook. you okay? " yugyeom asked.
jungkook decided to get straight to the point.
" the system of finality contacted me this morning at midnight. there's so many things that i wanna do, but i'm running out of time. i hate how quickly time is passing by. "
bambam spit out the water he was drinking into jaehyun's face. " w-who contacted you? "
jaehyun grabbed a napkin to wipe his face, before answering bambam. " didn't you hear him clearly? he said the system of finality contacted him. "
" how are you guys all so calm about this? i expected everyone to cry and make a big fuss out of it. " jungkook said in awe. " or is it because i'm not that important? "
jungkook's question was answered with a slap to his head, courtesy of yugyeom. " idiot. i'm sure you already spent hours earlier crying about this, you don't need any more tears from us. you know we'll love you and miss you no matter what anyway, we're just glad you chose to spend time with us. "
" death is inevitable anyway, it's all a matter of time. your time just ends today, but ours could end tomorrow. as long as you feel happy, i think you're making good use of your time. " jaehyun told jungkook, which he received with a smile on his face.
" who knows about this so far? " bambam asked.
" apart from you guys, only namjoon and the rest of them know. "
" are you going to tell yerim? "
jungkook had to pause.
" i don't know, but i'm definitely going to find a way to spend the rest of my time with her. "
" you haven't been in contact with her since then, right? "
" nope, she completely cut me off. but i'm pretty sure i can still find one of her friend's contacts somewhere and find her from there. "
" good luck jungkookie, i hope she doesn't slap you when she first sees you. " yugyeom teased him.

it's been a while since my last update! thank you for being so understanding ❤️ how's everyone doing?
just one day has been so tough to write because this entire book is essentially what the last 15 chapters of goodbye are about!! with this emotional burden in my heart and a lot of other good and bad things going on in my life this past month plus, it's been tough to sit down and write but i've had ideas sprout here and there and i noted everything down 😊
