I only intended on taking the money and not some innocent girls life. She could of had a family, parents, friends or even children and I took something special from them. I still needed the money though. I decided to close the shop to make it seem like nobody was in there. I even switched the lights off and used a new torch from the shop to guide my way around in the pitch black.
Under the till was three sheets of paper. Sheet one had unpaid bills, so not to interesting for me. Sheet two said "Stranger lock - 6879 8888" I noticed that 8888 was in a bold colour than the rest of the numbers. The safe was digital and I decided to type 8888 into the digital pad to see if it was the the code. It was the code and in the safe was C4 (remote explosives), a credit card and and £50,000 in cash.
Sheet three was a note for the women in the shop. "Dear Grace, I know I haven't been the best of husbands to you recently and I would like to apologise for that but I would like you to get treatment for your cancer. Little Sam will be upset when he finds out but he is only 7 and won't fully understand. Please come home, J.S".
This letter broke me. It made me think upon what I did, what I'm doing and what I may do. It's a tough world and all I want to do is survive at any cost.
