Third year: part three

Harry was down in the great hall having breakfast with Hermione and Ron like every Saturday morning. He had some toast with Pumpkin juice and some scrambled eggs.

"Well you seem better than yesterday."
"Yeah, guess I just needed to rest."
"Don't lie Harry, you looked awful yesterday."
"That's something I want to hear."
"You know what I mean. You were on the verge of tears and furious."

Harry's POV
I hate when Hermione asks too many questions. Why can't she just let it go? She should be glad I'm not going after Sirius anymore.

"Well we have to go down to Hagrid's."
"Why?"
"Today's the day of you know.....Buckbeaks death sentence."
"Oh crap, I forgot about that."
"I think we should be there for him."
"Yeah your right Hermione. We'll just finish breakfast and head to Hagrid's."
"Glad your feeling better, Harry."
"Thanks Ron."
"Why that change of attitude."

Harry's POV
Just say it. Draco. Draco's the reason you felt better. Wait no that'd be bad. He's the whole reason Buckbeaks in this mess. It'd just piss them off. Even I'm still mad about that.

"I just needed to take a walk, it helped."
"Well glad you're better mate."

Everything had went down that night. Sirius Black wasn't the bad guy it was Petter Pettigrew. He had faked his death after giving away where the Potters were hiding. Sirius was innocent.

Peter had escaped and the'd been attacked by the dementors. The next day Harry woke up in a hospital bed with Hermione and Ron.

He heard the minister and profesor Dumbledore as well as Snape speaking of Sirius Black. The dementors would be preforming the kiss tonight meaning that he'd die.

Harry was afraid. He had hated Sirius before he had learned the truth. Sirius was his godfather, he never betrayed his parents and did everything to protect them.

Before the attack Sirius told Harry after his name would be clear that he'd be able to move in with him if he wished. He'd never have to go back to the Dursley's.

Dumbledore soon came in. Ron was still passed out but Hermione and Harry spoke to him trying to convince him about the truth. As much as Dumbledore did believe them they had no proof. He spoke to Hermione and left.

"Harry we have to go."
"What Hermione it's over. They're not going to believe us."
"Just shut up and come here."

Hermione wrapped a necklace around their necks and used a time turner. The night faded away and it turned back to day time.

"What the fuck Hermione?"
"Harry this is a time turner. You can use it to go back in time. I've been using it to attend all my extra classes. I was told to only use it to attend class but I believe Dumbledore wants us to change something."
"What he say?"
"Something about saving more than one innocent life."
".....Buckbeak!!!"

They ran out of the hall carefully without being spotted. Before they could head out they ran into Draco and his father. They quickly ran out of view before they were spotted.

"Father can't you do anything about the Hippogriff?"
"I've already gotten him sentenced to death Draco, what else do you want from me?"
"I was an idiot. I didn't think he'd be killed. Look I'm fine. Just please don't kill him."
"IVE PUT TOO MUCH EFFORT INTO MAKING SURE THAT CREATURE IS DEAD. IVE HAD IT WITH YOU MALFOY. THAT CREATURE IS DEAD WEATHER YOU LIKE IT OR NOT. IF YOU NEVER WANTED HIM KILLED THEN YOU SHOULD'VE THOUGHT ABOUT THAT BEFORE I GOT THE MINISTRY TO SIDE WITH ME."
"I'm sorry father."
"Just leave. I'm so fucking tired of you Draco. You're such a disappointment ."
"I'm s-Sorry."
"I TOLD YOU TO FUCKING LEAVE."

Draco walked away looking at the ground, not daring to look at his father.

Draco's POV
Nothing I ever do is good enough for you. Even if I hadn't said anything you'd find another excuse to call me a disappointment.

Once the hallway was clear again, Hermione and Harry kept walking out of the castle. As they walked Harry felt bad about what they had just witnessed and it felt weird to just ignore it.

"God Malfoy's dad sure is an ass to him."
"Harry just forget about him, we have more important things to worry about."

Harry's POV
But I can't. Lately it's all I can think about. I know Draco told me about his father being cold but I never knew how cruel he really was. And he actually tried fixing it. He tried to fix his mistake. Doesn't that make him a better person than I thought? From what I've seen he's actually a good guy, he just wasn't raised well. His father is an arrogant asshole who only cares about money and blood status so of course he was out to act the same way but Draco's different....he actually cares about people, he can be kind sometimes. I mean he comforted me when I was a crying mess. And I guess I never really noticed but I love seeing him smile. He has a very beautiful smile.

"Harry? ..... HARRY?"
"WHAT?"
"Stop being distracted."
"Sorry I just zoned out."
"Well get your head out of the clouds we need to save buckbeak and rescue Sirius."
"You think we can accomplish that?"
"We might, it'll be almost impossible but if we do, you need to pay attention."
"Yeah right sorry."
