The final task had been a disaster. Voldemort was back and now Cedric Diggory was dead. Harry had managed to escape.
He sobbed as he held Cedrics corpse screaming.
"HES BACK. VOLDEMORT IS BACK. I COULDN'T SAVE HIM. IT'S ALL MY FAULT."
Everyone ran to help, except for Cedrics father who stood sobbing looking at his dead son.
Draco sat on the stands not daring to look at the scene. People cried everywhere and everyone seemed scared. The dark lord was back, it was just a matter of time before everyone was dead.

That summer everything changed. Harry stood awake night after night wishing he could've changed how things had went down on the last task.
He blamed himself entirely for the whole situation. His guilt destroyed him. He was so afraid for the rest of his friends. Now that Voldemort was back no one was safe.
______________________________
Draco was alone in his room reading the Daily Prophet. The headline of the "The boy who lied", and Harry's picture was on the front page. The Ministry of Magic covered up Cedrics murder saying it had been nothing but a tragic accident. They made a fool of Harry saying he lied about everything. The Ministry was too afraid to say the truth. It would only bring panic to the Wizarding world.
Lucius Malfoy walked in. Draco turned away his attention from the Daily Prophet to his father.
"Draco we need to talk."
Draco didn't respond. He begged that he wouldn't ask him what he was thinking.
"Im guessing by now you've heard the rumors."
"About Voldemort being back."
"Don't say his name."
"So its true? He's back."
"I need you to understand that you have no reason to be afraid."
"Look Father, we both know you've been a follower of The dark lord before I was even born. I bet anything that you were there the night he returned."
"And now you will too."
"What?"
"After all you are part of this family, and I'd consider it nothing more than a complete betrayal if you dared to disobey me."
"Will I have to kill? Torture?"
"Your too young. I know how awful it sounds, but your a Malfoy, and we serve to the dark lord. You'll get used to the torturing and yes you might even have to kill."
"I don't want to. Its cruel, Its inhuman. How could you possibly agree to this?"
"Don't speak to me that way Draco. I know your too young to understand it, so you wont get involved. At least not for now. Everyone isn't aware of his return yet. They believe its just a rumor. Just know that when the time comes you will have join the Death Eaters. Weather you like it or not."
"You can't make me do it."
"Oh believe me I can, and we both know I'm capable of doing worst if you refuse."
Lucius left slamming Draco's bedroom door.
Draco's POV
This isn't happening. It won't be long before Voldemort start gaining followers again. I can't do it. I cant kill people!
Draco hadn't realized it but his eyes started filling up with tears. He started to shake slightly as he tried not to break down completely.
He remembered the sobs at the tournament. He remembered the fear in everyone's face. Draco couldn't imagine killing anyone looking at him with the same scared gaze. He thought of how he would ever be able to live with himself if he had to torture innocent people. How could he forget any of the pleads of people begging him to not kill them.
Draco felt trapped and like always alone.
