Seventh year: part four

"Harry Potter is dead"

The words echoed in Draco's head. It was a stab to his heart. He tried his best to keep calm but how could he? The only person he had ever loved was gone.

"Join me or be killed. The choice is yours."

That was Voldemort who spoke to the survivors of the war. Draco was among them. After he had seen what had happened to Harry he didn't go back. He was amongst the students and the order of the Phoenix. The side he originally wanted to be part of.

Draco stood silent not knowing what to do. He didn't feel like it was worth it anymore. Harry was gone. Weather he decided to stay or join them it didn't matter. Even if he did stay Voldemort had won. The world would be a disgusting place to live in. The only reason he even thought to stay was his mother.

Draco had enough. He wasn't going to dare let it end like this. He was going to make sure that Harry's death hadn't been in vain.

Draco marched up to Voldemort. Voldemort looked shocked he had been brave enough to betray him again.

"Yeah I've got something to tell you. I've had enough of this. Harry might be dead but it's not over yet. AVADA KEDAVRA!"

He shot at Voldemort but he quickly blocked it.

"YOU DARE BETRAY YOUR LORD." Screamed Bellatrix.

Voldemort this time shot a killing curse at Draco. The curse had been so quick Draco hadn't had enough time to block it so he closed his eyes and awaited death.

Draco suddenly realized that he wasn't dead. When he opened his eyes Harry was right In front of him blocking the curse.

Everyone gasped.

Draco thought it was just a dream. That he had officially went mental or something but when Harry looked at him he knew it was real.

"Your right Draco." Harry said to Draco.

"It's not over yet!"

They both casted spells at Voldemort as the death eaters ran to the remaining survivors and started to attack.

Harry and Draco came closer and closer to Voldemort, Who struggled to keep up with all the spells being shot at him.

"YOURE SUPPOSED TO BE DEAD."

"You only destroyed the part of Voldemort that was in me."

Voldemort hadn't even known Harry had been a horcrux. It only made him realize that he only truly had a life left. Once he was killed he wouldn't come back. All the other  horcruxes were gone.

"Why you little SECTUMSEMPRA!"

Draco ran in front of Harry causing the curse to be shot right in his chest. He collapsed on the floor growing weak by the minute.

"NOOO! Draco are you okay?" Harry said freaking out as he inspected Draco who was bleeding pretty badly.

"I-I'll be fine. Just go."

"No no your hurt."

"Harry I'll be fine just go."

Harry nodded and turned to Voldemort.

"You shouldn't of done that."

"I should've killed the boy when I had the chance. It would've destroyed you."

"You'll never hurt him again."

"AVADA KEDAVRA." They both said

This caused the the Wands to connect. The spark from Harry's wand interacted with Voldemort wand.

Finally Harry was able to disarm him and just like that Voldemort was gone.

"DRACO." Harry said returning to his boyfriend laying on the floor.

"You'll be okay I promise Draco."

Harry took out his wand and started a healing spell

"Vulnera Sanentur." He said dragging his wand across the wound.

The blood started to clear up and Draco was better. He'd still need to visit the hospital just to make sure it was fully taken care of but for now it would do.

When Draco started gaining his strength he was finally able to sit up.

"I was so scared I thought I might lose y-"

Draco stopped him. He grabbed him and kissed him. This had been the first time Draco had seen Harry in months. He never thought he'd see him again. He kissed his lips while tears rolled off his pale cheeks.

"Don't ever scare me like that again idiot." Draco said smiling and holding on to Harry.

"I'm so sorry. I needed to but hey it's okay. I'm okay."

"I swear to Merlin if you die again I'll resurrect you and kill you myself."

Harry chuckled and kissed Draco.

Harry and Draco walked back to the castle. Everyone was smiling. It was over. They had won.

Harry met the Wesley's and Mrs. Weasley hugged him so tightly. Maybe it was because of her fear of loosing him. She had already lost a son.

Draco stood there awkwardly. Mrs. Weasley finally let go of Harry and saw Draco standing next to him.

"Draco I'm so glad to see you." She said

Before Malfoy had thought of what to say Mrs. Weasley gave him a big hug. It was a warm motherly hug that he knew Mrs. Weasley only gave to her children. He smiled and hugged her back.

Draco and Harry stood there with The Wesley's when Draco heard something behind him.

"Draco?"

Draco turned around and saw his mother standing only a feet apart. Once she saw that it was him she started to cry and ran to him. Draco stood there with his arms open as she leaped into them.

"I'm so glad your okay Draco. I thought I had lost you. Your so brave to stand up to him like that. I'm so damn proud of you. I love you so much Draco."

"I......love you too mom."

This had to be about the first time they had exchange those words to each other. Draco was shocked how quickly and easily she had said those words to him. Almost seventeen years of barely speaking to each other and now Narcisa was speaking to him with so much love.

Narcisa noticed Harry standing there. Draco noticed her eye contact with Harry and he decided to introduce him.

"Mom this is Harry. M-my boyfriend."

Harry extended his arm to shaker her hand. Narcisa gave him a warm smile and shook his hand.

"Thank you for saving my son."

"Draco what was so urgent that you had to drag me up the tower?"

"Hush Potter I want it to be special."

"What are you talking about?"

Draco grabbed Harry's hand. Harry saws his smile in the lighting that came through the window.

They stood several stories high in the tower where they had shared their first kiss. Where Harry had confessed his love for him.

Draco knelt down on one knee and held a engagement ring in one hand.

"Harry James Potter. For a very long time I thought I was incapable of love until I met you. You're the only person that made me believe that I was capable of loving anyone. You promised me love so easily that I realized I would never find anyone else who'd make me feel this way. You've always been there for me and stood by my side even when we couldn't stay together. All my life I felt so alone. What I'm trying to say is that I don't want to be alone anymore. I want you. I want you to be with me for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?"

Harry started to cry. He wiped away his tears.

"Yes."
