The Yule ball had been an utter disaster. Hermione got wasted. She was so drunk that she puked in the girls bathroom.
Ron had to walk her back to the Gryffindor tower so they left early.

Pansy had been clingy all night which made Draco very uncomfortable. He was utterly miserable. Luckily Pansy also had a little too many drinks and ended up feeling sick so she left as well.

Zabinis date ditched him. He was in a really depressed mood, so he left too out of humiliation.

Harry sat alone in a table having a butterbeer with his head laying back. A slow song played as Harry thought about what a great time Pansy had probably spent with Draco. He couldn't stop thinking about him no matter how much he tried.

Harry POV
Why is this bothering you so much? It's stupid. Just stop sitting here in self pity and ask a girl to dance or something.

Then Draco sat next to him in another chair not noticing he was there. He laid his head down in frustration. There was utter tiredness in his face.

"You ok there Malfoy?"

"Huh what?" He responded lifting his head.

"Oh sorry Harry I didn't see you there."

"It's alright. So Where's uhhh your date?"

"My date?"

"Pansy."

"Oh her. She felt sick and had to leave early."

"So that's why you look so miserable."

"No it's not that. I just had a terrible night I guess. The Yule ball wasn't what i hoped it'd be."

"Yeah not too good here either. At least you came with your girlfriend and got to dance with her all night."

"She's not my girlfriend, we're just friends."

"Sorry I thought you guys were a couple, I saw you two holding hands."

"Oh yeah she does that a lot. I don't like it but she does it anyway. Wait what are you doing here sitting alone?"

"Ron and Hermione had to leave. So I sat alone, Pathetic isn't it? Famous potter couldn't even get a date." He said taking a sip from his butterbeer.

"It's not. To be honest the only reason I even came with Pansy was because I was afraid I'd be left without a date."

"Oh come on Malfoy your like the Slytherin king. Every girl would kill to go to the Yule ball with you."

"You really think so?"

"Don't act like you don't know. I've seen girls throw themselves at you."

"Never really payed attention to be honest. Actually I've never payed attention to any girl."

"Why?"

"Don't know. Guess I haven't found the right person yet." He responded meeting Harry's eyes.

Harry met his and they gazed into each other's eyes for a moment. Harry started blushing and tried changing the subject.
