"I...um." I was frozen. Thankfully Keefe stepped in to save me. Turns out it wasn't much better. "You see, this little lady keeps falling for me. I don't think she can get over my incredibly good looks. And who can blame her?"
"I. Um. No. That's definitely not what happened. we kinda literally ran into each other a couple of times." My face was almost as red as my dress.
"Wait. you guys kept running into each other and neither of you thought to tell me?" Biana practically screeched.
"uh... well. What was there to tell. I ran into him in the hallway the day I was running late, and then again when I went to the library. There wasn't much t tell, and I never got his name. Now, may I please go die in a corner."
"Nope. not going to happen. I want to get to know the Mysterious Miss F before she goes and dies on us. And don't you at least what to have a last meal." Keefe teased.
Fitz rolled his eyes, "Guys I'm starving. let's just order already."
Lihn took a seat next to Fitz, her brother following suit, "You boys. All you think about is food, sleep, sports, more food, and yourselves."
"We think of other things." her twin retorted. "What? Girls, your style, sometimes homework and school, but mainly yourselves."
Dex started to look visibly hurt, "But I don't think about myself that much." Biana put a hand on his arm, "Aww, honey, that's because you aren't a normal boy."
"Well, none of it is true to me, 'cause imma man," Keefe said leaning back into his chair. I snorted, which might not have been that attractive, but I couldn't help myself. "Just you saying that sentence makes you more of a teenager more than anything."
"And anyway, you are the person who spends the most amount of time on his hair and looks," Fitz interjected. Keefe put his hand over his heart as if he was physically wounded, "How dare you make fun of The Hair. Do you know how long it takes to look this good? You're just jealous 'cause all da ladies love Keefe." At that statement, he gave me a look out of the corner of his eyes and winked. At that moment I learned that my face could become even more flush than it already was. I stole a look at "The Hair". It was still a stylish mess. That couldn't take to long, could it?
I was brought back to reality when Dex on m right side kicked me from under the table. "Your staring." He mumbled, only for me to hear, but it seemed that Keefe knew exactly what he said. I mumbled back my thanks and hid behind my dinner menu. This was going to be a long night.
***
I woke up the next morning to find a stranger in my bed. then the events of last night came crashing down on me. My utter humiliation, and the reveling of my brick wall. And also that Lihn decided to sleep over so that today could be a chance for the girls to hang out.
I get out of my bed, making as little noise as possible, slipping into the kitchen to see Biana on the counter with a mug in her hands. "Coffeeeee" I groan waling over to the pot.
"Good morning to you too sleepyhead. Is she still sleeping." Biana asked, taking a sip of her tea. She was a tea person while I couldn't function without coffee.
"Yup. Dead as a doornail." It wasn't unlikely for Lihn to sleep through the day. There were many incidents where we even had to use the dumping of water on face trick many times. "Let's give her another half an hour or so. I'm not wake either."
"What? Are you the living dead or something? Should I be worried that you'll try to eat my brains?"
"Ha. Ha. Very funny Biana."
We had a quiet morning. While Lihn slept I made us some pancakes, chocolate chip of course. We got Lihn to wake up without the water, but our voices hurt after all the screaming we did. It was Biana's turn to clean the kitchen so I was sitting on the couch with Lihn catching up on life.
"So... Do you like Keefe?" I almost spit out my third cup of coffee.
"I'm-I'm sorry. What?!" I cough down the hot liquid. Thankfully it didn't come spirting out like I thought It would.
"Don't be shy. We saw you looking at him the whole night." Biana retorted, plopping herself on the other side of me. Well, shoot. Now I was trapped.
"I do not like Keefe! And I wasn't looking at him the whole night. I was trying to evaluate what type of person he is." Lame excuse I know. But it was true. He seemed very egoistic and had a lot of sarcasm, I'll give him that, but something seemed off with him. "I don't know him very well, but something seemed off about him. Did you notice anything Biana?"
"What? Let's see," she started to tick off her fingers as she spoke, "He was making a lot of sarcastic comments, which is normal, he was very flirtatious, which is also normal. But he seemed extra around you Soph. But other than that, nope. And anyway, I was looking at the cute waiter who served us. How old do you think he is?"
"I don't know. very early 20's I would say." Lihn responded, "But don't you dare like him. We know how that ends."
"We do not need another Carter fiasco." I groan. I do a lot of groaning in the morning. What can I say?
"Ugh. Fine. I'm just saying that he was cute -"
"Stop it" "Nope" "Nu-uh" Lihn and I shouted. We then all broke down into a mess of giggles.
