Why Me?

Chapter 15-You Have One More Chance

So I have decided to continue the story, but I will be finishing it up in the next couple chapters.

I woke up the next morning with tear tracks dried on my face. Sitting up, I saw that I was the only one in the room.

I grabbed some clothes for the day and my phone. I turned on my music and got in the shower.

Boomerang by The Summer Set blasted as I washed my hair. I got out and put on my clothes for the day, aztec patterned leggings and a black 5SOS crewneck.

I only put on some foundation and mascara and straightened my hair. I texted Mahogany asking where she was.

To: Mo-Mo 🙈
'Hey, where are you?'

From: Mo-Mo 🙈
'Downstairs, eating breakfast at the buffet.'

To: Mo-Mo 🙈
'I'll be right down.'

I locked my phone and put on my black combat books as I left, grabbing my key. I took the elevator down to the lobby, heading in the direction of the buffet.

As soon as I walked into the room, Jacob jumped out of his seat and ran over to me. He ran into me, crushing me into a hug, making me step back a few feet.

"Are you ok?" He asked, looking me in the eye.

"Yeah, totally." I said, looking away from him.

He gave me a look that said 'We'll-talk-later' and we went back to the table.

"Hey Dani," Everyone said.

I waved and went to get my own food. I got a chocolate muffin and some orange juice and sat back down in between Jacob and Hayes.

"Hey Dan," Hayes said with a mouthful of pancakes.

"Hi Hayes. Now chew and swallow." I ordered him.

I slowly ate my muffin, as everyone else talked about today's MAGCon. Apparently Dillon was flying in so him and Taylor can perform their new song.

I put in my headphones as soon as they started talking about that, and turned on Tenerife Sea by Ed Sheeran. I texted Ben and Nicole in our group chat, asking them if they wanted to come to MAGCon today. Apparently Nicole was already coming, Aaron invited her, and Ben was planning on just showing up. Of course he was. I rolled my eyes and texted them back.

Just then, I realized that Taylor wasn't even here. I looked around and couldn't find him anywhere.

To: Jacob
'Where is he?'

From: Jacob
'Idk, havent seen him since last night.'

To: Jacob
'Oh.'

I pushed the rest of my muffin away from me and stood up. Everyone looked at me, making me blush.

"I'm going to go back to my room," I said with my head down.

Jacob was going to say something, but I walked away before he could. I put my headphones back in and turned on Holiday by Green Day, turning the volume up all the way.

I decided to take the stairs instead of the elevator, and started walking to the fourth floor, where our rooms where.

When I was getting to the third floor, I ran into someone. I knocked my Beats from on top of my head to around my neck.

"Oops, sorry." A familiar southern accent said. "Oh, hi Dani."

"Hi Taylor." I said, looking up at him. He was rubbing the back of his neck, and there was an awkward silence.

"Well I'm going to go to my room." I said, trying to go around him.

"Wait," Taylor stepped in front of me. "Why did you leave last night?"

I couldn't help it, my mouth dropped open. Was he serious? "Are you serious?" I asked him.

"What?" He asked, looked at me.

"I saw you." I told him.

"Saw me?" He looked confused at first, then his face paled.

"Yeah, that's what I thought." I said, trying to go around him. But he stepped in front of me once again.

"Dani, it wasn't what it looked like." He said, holding up his hands.

"Really, you weren't making out with that girl on our date?" I said sarcastically.

He stayed quiet and I nodded my head.

"Dani, that was my ex." Taylor said.

I threw my hands up in the air. "Yes, Taylor. Cause that totally makes me feel so much better. Now excuse me."

I pushed past him and made my way up the stairs. I heard footsteps behind me and turned around to see Taylor following me.

"Go away Taylor," I groaned.

"Not until you let me explain." He said.

I stopped abruptly and turned around, making him bump into me.

"Explain." I said, crossing my arms over my chest.

"That was my ex-girlfriend-" He started.

"Yeah, you already mentioned that." I interrupted.

"She came onto me and kissed me. I swear I didn't kiss her back." He said.

"How do I know you're telling the truth and you aren't lying to me?" I said.

"I-I don't know. You'll just have to trust me?" He said, as more of a question than a statement.

I stared at him, not moving.

"No? Ok then." He rubbed the back of his neck.

"Let me take you out again! I can prove to you that the kiss didn't mean anything and I like you and not her." He said, sounding excited.

I blushed when he said 'I like you' but looked at the floor so he couldn't see. "I don't know Taylor..." I said, hesitantly.

"C'mon, let me prove it to you and get your trust back." Taylor grabbed my hand and came up a stair so he was right in front of me.

I sighed. "You have one more chance."

He jumped for joy and kissed my cheek. "Thank you Dani! I promise you won't regret giving me a second chance. Now I'm picking you up at 6:00, and dress fancy." With that he winked at me and made his way downstairs.

What have I done?

So yes, I have decided to continue the story, but as I said at the beginning of the chapter, the story will end soon. Sorry that this was shorter than the other chapters, I just wanted to update a chapter for you guys.
