It was now October 29th and today was Johnny's Halloween party at his school, so naturally being the motherly figure I stayed up all night and baked monster-shaped cookies and English tarts and made caramel apples for his school shing-ding. Then I made some fun and decorative Halloween creatures to win as prizes during the games in the gym room. Johnny didn't want to use his real Halloween costume for school so he simply dressed up as his daddy's alter-ego Xristos and went to school that way. It was a very fun time for him and I was happy to be a part of it knowing that Criss was at work, and wasn't sure he could make it in time, so I volunteered to help out at his school.

The first game was, pin the tail on the werewolf, then they moved to bobbing for skulls in red water that had food coloring in it. Then I came up with the idea of playing musical chairs to the Halloween song Monster Mash. For Johnny really loved it when we got together at home and played it with him. And of course, we couldn't end the festivities without having a Halloween decorative pinata filled with all sorts of goodies in it. Johnny wanted me to dress up for his party at school so I gave in and dressed up as a witch just for him. Then to finish off the school's activities they ended up watching a few Halloween cartoons, one was The Halloween Tree, and the second one was Scooby Doo and the Ghoul School.

It wasn't until The Halloween Tree was almost over when all the power went out in the gymnasium, I was even a little curious to what was going on, then as I heard the music and I knew Criss was making a surprise visit to the school...red lights filled the gymnasium and Xristos popped out of the waft of red smoke in the center of the room holding a huge empty cauldron and acting as crazy as ever. Which in turn made Johnny want to act like his daddy too and ran over to him and jumped on his back. Criss did some crazy magic tricks for the kids, then he took turns with all the kids and levitated them. But when a few of the girls kept squealing at him wanting him to play with them, he grabbed them and stuck them in the cauldron and said he liked his kids well done, then he looked down at Johnny and said ain't that right mini-me...Johnny giggled as he hollered yea very loudly and rubbed his hands together like Criss was.

I came in and told him that they weren't meaty enough to make a good meal out of. Criss looked at them and said they were a little on the scrawny side as he tickled them in the cauldron...then he pulled them out and said he would just have to make something else to munch on....as he covered the cauldron with his cape and asked all the kids what the magic words were...they all hollered Trick or Treat Mindfreak! Then Criss quickly removed the cape and the cauldron was overloaded with all kinds of candies and spider rings, and other kiddy Halloween party favors.

At that point none of the teachers had any control over the kids, they all screamed in unison as they attacked the cauldron, it was very cute and silly at the same time. I went over to Criss as we watched the kids swim in the candy cauldron, and told him that their parents were really going to kill him for jacking their kids on so much sugar. Criss chuckled as he said he didn't care because he didn't have to be there once they crashed from their sugar rushes...but it was good for kids every now and then to have that experience, and Halloween was the only time of the year for them to get it.

I did, however, manage to let Johnny know he had limitations for his candy binging because we had to live with, not that I really worried about him because he loved candy, but he never overdid it, he usually only ate two or three pieces in a day's time. Criss, on the other hand, was a candy-holic and could massive tons of the shit before he knew what he was doing, and his favorite was tootsie pops usually the red ones. Finally, the school party was over with and all the parents came to take their lil ghoulies and monsters home so they could rest up for the real trick or treating that was coming in a few more days and luckily school was now out until November 3rd.

Criss was wiping off his makeup while driving us back to the house, then he handed the cloth to Johnny so he could wipe his face paint off too, and asked what he thought of his daddy's special appearance at his school. Johnny giggled as he said how great it was, especially when he thought he couldn't make it from work. Criss gave him a wink thru the rearview mirror and said he would never miss out on his lil man's parties because he was a real party animal and a bigger kid than most.

I snickered to myself at his comment, and Criss looked over at me and said not to say it at all because it wasn't nice. I looked at him and told him that it was still the truth, Criss thought about it for a while then as we pulled up in Serenity's parking lot he said it probably was, but he was good for it. We both hopped out of the car only to check in the back to see Johnny sound asleep. Criss grabbed his lil man and carried him into the house and took him straight to his room so he could rest up from all his excitement today. While I went down to the kitchen to help out with supper.
