Chapter 8: Landon Cage part 2
It's been a day since I saw Landon in the hospital.
After leaving the hospital I went to school and got to my 3rd class by 10 o'clock still in major shock.
He had been gone for over a month without a trace, and now I know why. Well kinda.
But now I really wanted to know so during my classes, I became a detective.
With the time I had to think, I decided that he's either sick or majorly injured. And when I saw him he did not look like he was in some severe accident that would keep him in the hospital for that long. So I made an expert assumption that he was indeed sick.
Now my only question was 'with what?'
So here I am a day later, standing in the hospital lobby, bag in hand, waiting for the elevator.
Of course I'm not here just for my curiosity on Landon's situation, I actually have another blood test in about 20 minutes before my results are official.
But it is pretty convenient.
The doors to the elevator open and I walk in, pressing the number 4 on the wall. As the elevator goes up, my thoughts start to race.
Wait.. what if he figures out why I'm here?
I didn't tell anyone that he was here but would he tell people that I'm here?
That's not good. Maybe I should avoid him.
The doors click open and I start walking to my room. My hand is literally on the handle right when someone starts calling my name.
And yeah it is that someone.
"Lyla!" Landon calls and I sigh turning to him as he jogs over to me. Well I guess avoiding him isn't going to work. "That's your name right?" He asks as he comes to a stop in front of me.
"Yeah," I confirm as I look at the door handle and remove my hand from it then look back at him.
"Look," he says and I can tell he's uncomfortable. "Can we talk?"
I look down at my phone and realize that I have 10 minutes until my blood test.
"Yeah sure, but can it wait like 30 minutes? I have a blood te- uh I have something to do right now." Good fucking job Lyla.
"Yeah ok. Of course. Sure." He rambles looking anywhere but at me and I laugh which draws his attention to my face.
"You sound nervous." I say while smiling at him.
I swear he's gazing right through my eyes. "Yeah I mean, I just thought that you would be asking so many questions."
"It's none of my business. We all have our own shit going on. Of course I'm surprised to see you here after being MIA for over a month but it really is none of my business." I say and he smiles at me.
"That was definitely not what I was expecting."
"Like I said, we all have our own shit going on," I open the door to my room and turn back to him with a smile still on my face. "I'll see you later Landon."
Then I closed the door.
Wow I just did that. I just talked to Landon Cage and didn't even mess up.
Damn ok.

Before my blood test I changed into a t-shirt and leggings since I guess it's a routine now, and sat on my bed for a while.
