Meanwhile, Direll, Jemma and Surage were taking on unrequested mercenary jobs. Direll’s phone ‘Ex Machina’ had an EMP app, that would send a shock wave to disrupt the power grid. Its effects lasted for one hour. Direll and his two companions arrived at a trap house where the drug dealers dealt cards.
Jemma knocked on the door and the Bouncer came out. He glared at her with lust, and started flirting with her. Direll set the timer on his camera then slid his phone near them. The flash created a stun grenade blinding the bouncer. Jemma punched him in the jaw and knocked him out.
"Slim thick and strong." Surage gasped. "If only you weren't underage."
"Let's just hurry up."
They walked into the trap house and the dealers immediately readied their guns. By that time their necks had an inflamed hotspot signal glimmering fiery red.
Direll pointed two fingers to his head and pulled a fake trigger. The dealers copied his motions and shot themselves. Surage collected the money as Direll used a currency converter to change it to pounds.
Jemma looked at the inflammation on Direll's neck.
"That's one nasty hickey." She said. "But the neck is one of a teenager's hotspot."
He quickly covered it and pushed her away.
"It's a mosquito bite."
After they were done, they were stopped by the Bouncer who was immediately blown away by one of Surage explosive blasts.
They went to rob a company participating in a command line of cocaine. A blast left a big hole in the wall during the boss’s meeting with staff. Surage slowly walked in with his hands steaming. They pulled out their guns and aimed for his head. A wave of flames shielded Surage from the bullets.
“What the hell was that?!” The boss asked.
“A firewall.” Jemma replied bluntly as she walked through the flames. “It’s a luminous flame barrier that just prevents incoming threats.”
Direll set his phone to vibrate and the entire room started to shake.
"An earthquake!" The boss yelled as he and his goons tried taking cover.
The building collapsed killing them all. Fortunately, Direll, Surage and Jemma were shielded by the firewall.
