Audrey's pov:

There I sat looking up at the beautiful piece of work they named Nash when my phone went off in my pocket pulling me out of my fantasy

I picked up my phone which was blaring unpredictable by 5 SOS

When I saw the caller ID I slightly panicked and hit the answer button sitting up and getting off Nash walking to the front of the bus

Ignoring the look of confusion on everyone's faces I walked up to the front of the bus and put the phone to my ear waiting for it to work I didn't have any connection so I asked  the buss driver to stop the bus

After a few minuets of arguing with them I screeched at the top of my lungs for her to open the door and she finally stopped and I walked over around the road trying to find a connection

"He-hello mom whats wrong?" I stumbled out

I don't know why but I had a really bad feeling about this call...

I could feel the eyes of everyone on the bus watching me but I didn't care

I heard my mom take a deep breath and then sniffled... Now I know it's bad...

"M-mom- wha-wh-what happened?" I finally spit out

"Uh-... Well... There...there was an accident...and your father" she started but when she said my father I let out a quiet sob and tears ran down my face

"Mom...is-is is dad..." I started but before I could finish I dropped the phone out of my shaking hands and fell to the ground wrapping my arms around my legs and brining them up to my chest as I sobbed like a baby into myself

I can't believe this is happening why? Everything was just starting to work out...I didn't even get a day! Not one day of perfection...

With in seconds Nash was by my side along with Matt who was now talking in my shattered phone his face completely palled an lost all since of color and a single tear slid down his cheek

"Ill..I'll tell her" he said in a quite voice before hanging up the phone

I looked up at Matt as he reached down to help me up when I finally got to my feet he wrapped me in his arms and held on for dear life...

"He's...ah...he's in the hospital, the doctors say he's not doing well and he won't last much longer.. He was slammed into by a drunk driver coming home from work sick today" he sobbed into my shoulder as I closed my eyes letting realization set in

That was it

No more family walks on the beach

No more funny face days

No more daddy daughter days

No more camp fires and singing

No one to scare away my boyfriends

No one to pull my hair and tease me

No one to yell about my makeup
Or...or...tell me I'm pretty enough when my hearts broken

Just I more...

Dad...dad was slipping out of our grips and I couldn't handle it

.
.

{Matt's pov}

I saw her fall to the ground and I went running

I saw Nash right behind me and he ran up to her side so I decided to grab the phone

"He-hello?" I whispered into the phone I heard my moms sobs in the background and my heart excelerated in My chest

"Wh-what's wrong what happened?" I whispered

She sniffled and whispered the worst possible thing

"Honey there was...there was an accident your dad was driving home from work and got hit by a drunk driver...he was rushed to the hospital but its not looking good for him the doctors say he's got about two days left" she sobbed into the phone

A tear rolled down my cheek

This is a joke she's lying!

We're- were gonna wake up to find out she was kidding and dads still alive...

Still breathing an laughing and smiling... This is just a nightmare and I'm going to wake up soon

I nodded my head numbly "Ill-Ill tell her" I whispered then hung up

I know it was rude but I couldn't help it with the news I got I figured it didn't even matter

I reached down a hand to help pull her up and after a minuet she grabbed it and I pulled her into a tight hug not even caring that all my friends were around

"He's...ah...he's in the hospital, the doctors say he's not doing well and he won't last much longer.. He was slammed into by a drunk driver coming home from work sick today" I said sobbing into her shoulder as she just hugged me back just as tight

This isn't real...but if it was...I needed to be strong for mom and Audrey...I had to be there rock...

I Cant believe this...he's really dying.

We're helpless, watching the man who provided for us our whole lives slowly slip into death.

How can this get any worse?
