PEOPLE ASK ME if I was really "kidnapped" by the Billy Boys and most of the time I just say "yeah." One moment all of us are throwing back champagne bottles on the beach, talking about soybeans and the next, Reed and Quincy are jamming guns through the air at each other and blood is pouring from a hole in Wallace's gut.
They had good reason to be at odds. There was this thing between the three of us but it wasn't a love triangle per se, at least not in the conventional sense, and despite my mother's adamant advice about falling for boys with tattoos and drinking problems, I had fallen for Reed. But contrary to her belief, Reed loved me back and that's when his and Quincy's relationship really went to shit.
Quincy would never admit his feelings for me or for anyone for that matter, he would rather die than expose vulnerability. He was the jealous, angry type, or at least seemed it for the better part of his day. But that could have also been attributed to his heavy drinking. Out of the four of them, he was the drunk one 90% of the time. He was like the elementary school boy that pulled the girl's hair he liked. His ill will towards me was blatantly obvious.That was half the reason he was pointing that pistol at Reed. The other half was a little more complicated....
