He stood in the crowd and watch as his father was led up in chains. He watched the trial and stood silently as his father was found guilty of all crimes. He watched as his father struggled to break free and catch his breath. He watched them take down his lifeless body from the stock and throw him in the pile of unknown dead bodies to be burned. He didn't get to say goodbye. He didn't get to apologize for causing his father so much pain. He could only stand there and watch as his father was hanged for his "crimes" while the royal bastards sat on their thrones casting deadly looks at his father.
The bodies were burned not long after and the sheet covering his father's face burned away quickly leaving his father's lifeless eyes to stare into his own soul. He could hear his mother screaming beside him as people held her back from jumping into the fire to die alongside his father. The sounds drowned out as he stared into his father's eyes one last time. From that day Odion's heart grew cold and he swore revenge on the people that took his father from him.

"Inspector we have a new case for your section to handle. I'm expecting results from you this this time. Furthermore we'll be taking the assassin case off of your hands. You've been on the case for almost six months now and you have made no type of progress. If he isn't caught soon it could be one of us or even worst ending up dead next."
Vance watched the chief take the files of the Zodiac Assassin from his desk and replace it with a new task. He picked up the folder and frowned after reading the cover. "With all due respect chief but you're putting us on parking duty?"
"You should be glad I'm not firing you. You've managed to fuck up about three different cases and if it wasn't for Inspector Coldwell you'd be cleaning the bathrooms as a janitor right about now. I'd suggest you do a good job with this assignment and I might give you back the use of the squad cars. Until then you don't exist anymore." The chief waved behind him in Vance's direction and walked out of the office.
Vance sighed and dropped his head on his desk. Today couldn't get much worst now could it? Never mind his girlfriend just broke up with his through text message. Now things couldn't get much worst. Vance sighed and threw his phone against the wall and watched as it shattered into little pieces. First his dignity now his personal life, it was as if everything was out to get him today.
Time seemed to slow down as the scenery began to melt and fade away into a solid white color. "Wow I finally lost it. Time to just kick the bucket now and be done with everything. Or is this death." Vance looked around him at the endless space.
"No this isn't death. Although if that is your wish I can make it happen." A voice echoed all around him.
"Are you the magic voice that transports lost souls to a better world? If you are then yes I will gladly come with you and I don't care what I have it is I will have to for you in exchange. If you are not said voice then please kill me right now." The area grew quiet and the air seemed to stand still after his statement.
"Seriously that's it? Aren't you worried about what I might force you to do? Do you have any sense at all?"
"At this point in time it doesn't matter. I've already agreed so bring me the contract to sign my life away to you. Better than watching parking meters all day to give out tickets. Get to it big booming ominous voice. We don't have all day. I'm sure you have to recruit other members to join me so let's get this over with."
"Dear Odin what did I get myself into?"

"Look that's her. Doesn't even know how to ride a horse."
"How sad. How can you come from a famous family of hunters and not know how to ride a horse?"
"Maybe someone has been too busy playing make believe to actually pay attention in class."
The girl sighed and closed the door to the stall her horse was in. "I'm sorry Ginger. Maybe tomorrow I'll be better. Until then get some rest."
The horse grunted softly and bent her neck to rub her snout on the girl. The girl smiled at the comforting gesture and pet the horse a little longer before leaving the stables.
"Ok class show me your haul for the day." One by one the students unloaded their finds for the day for the teacher to see. Good praises were heard until he made it to Sophia. "Please tell me you're joking. What is all this?"
"It's what I've managed to hunt down sir."
"Two berries, five nuts, some twigs, some stones, and some dirt. Is that pocket lint?"
"There was an apple sir but Ginger got hungry before we got back." Sophia smiled.
"You think that makes this display any better?! You go out ill prepared and you come back with less than you left with. That's very shameful young lady. You're parents would be ashamed to call you their daughter. Hit the showers." The teacher walked to the next student as Sophia left the line up.
In the shower room nothing was better. The coaches words rang in her ears. Everyday the same thing. She was a worthless hunter that couldn't even ride a horse, let alone fire an arrow from a bow.
"I knew it smelt bad in here but that's just the smell of failure. How does it feel to screw up another hunt? They're gonna kick you out of the school pretty soon if you keep this up. The only reason they even let you in is because of who your parents are. But didn't they die because of you?"
Sophia clenched her fists at the mention of her parent's death. "Please leave me alone." She attempted to leave but was pushed back by one of the girls surrounding her.
"We weren't done talking yet. Where are your manners? I wanted to ask where you got that blouse from? Did you make it?" When Sophia didn't answer the main girl continued her taunt. "Looks as bad as your horse riding skills. Maybe you should leave before they expel you and save yourself some dignity. Or are you still trying to impress Garret? Did I tell you that he asked me out? In fact we're a couple now so you have no reason to stay. Leave and don't come back. You make all of us at the school look bad."
Sophia pushed past the crowd of laughing girls and went to the stables. "Let's go Ginger there's no place left here for us." After saddling up her horse the girl noticed a pink slip on the inside of the stall. She took it down and crumpled it after noticing it was an expulsion notice in her name. She slipped out the school gate and into the woods down a path she knew all too well. Maybe the boy who lived in the woods could cheer her up like he always did.
