Chapter 5

Pisces stared at the ground as the water from a waterfall beat down on his back. He cupped his hand and caught some of the water surprised by the transparency of it.

It's had been two weeks since he along with his friends revived an entire planet. He looked out at the landscape surrounding him. On earth you'd have to fear numerous things if you went deep into the jungle and stood under a waterfall, here the water seemed to play with him. When he looked further down the river he could see the mermaids he'd befriended getting their daily dose of sunshine before turning in for the night.

Things on his new home were much calmer than things on Earth. The people were friendlier and the crime rate was low. With all of the good surrounding him Pisces couldn't shake the feeling of something evil lurking in the shadows, waiting for him to drop his guard for even just a second. He shook his head to get rid of thought when a splash of water behind him caught his attention.

"Are you just gonna stand under the water all day or are you gonna come and talk with us? We hate seeing that look on your face." Pisces smiled a little at the mermaid pouting at him.

He just met her yesterday and it seemed as if they had been friends for years. She was a beautiful, uh fish, in his mind. Her tail was green mixed with hints of blue and her hair was black with thick curls. In fact she was the only mermaid Pisces had seen with black hair ever. She was also the only mermaid with curly hair Pisces had ever seen.

"Aquatica you said you were from which part of Astrogia again?" Pisces asked.

Aquatica blinked and smiled again. "Silly human. I told you that yesterday. I'm from Oceanica."

Oceanica. Why did that not sound familiar? Every other place mentioned to him was somewhat familiar to Pisces but his mind grew cold when it came to her home land. Pisces scratched his head and let out a groan from thinking too hard.

"Is something wrong Pisces?" Aquatica reached out to touch his arm but quickly drew it back when she was shocked.

Pisces turned to face her fully and furrowed his eyebrows. "Who are you really?"

Aquatica laughed uneasily and glanced around to see all the other mermaids backing away from her slowly. "What do you mean Pisces? It's me Aquatica. Your new friend."

"Liar! I'll give you one last chance. Who are you really?" Pisces stopped the waterfall long enough to form a spear with it's water. He got into a defensive stance and pointed the tip of his spear at the mermaid in the middle of the river.

"Heh. They said you were the stupid one. Ugh this form was annoying anyway." Aquatica cracked her neck and stood up straight.

Pisces watched in shock as her tail split into two and legs formed where fins once were. Her eyes changed from blue to red and her teeth grew more pointed. Aquatica glanced at Pisces and hissed at him a little.

"What are you?" Pisces thrust the spear close to her throats and growled when she chuckled.

"I thought that would've been obvious Pisces. I'm a vampire. That stupid tail was tiring. Now then. Why don't we get down to business." Aquatica touched the spear and watched the water turn black.

Pisces dropped the water when it burned him and watched it burn a hole into the ground. "Why are you here? What do you want with me?"

"I don't really want to fight you. I came to ask you small favor. I have some people I need you to save."

"Why would I do that? I've seen what you and your people can do."

"You know nothing about my people! If you were really the hero everyone says you are then you have to help me! My brothers have been enslaved and I need you to free them." Aquatica played with her nails trying to calm herself down.

"Enslaved how? And by who?" Pisces asked.

"It happened a few years ago. Before the fall of Astrogia. Vampires were a proud race that served as Counts and even Dukes. Before the fall, a Duke was caught speaking against the rulers of our planets and he was thrown into jail. Before he could be restrained he went in a frenzy and destroyed the city. Innocent lives were lost and almost everything was done for. In a final attempt to free himself the vampire turned his sights on one if the rulers but he was turned to stone before his attack could happen. Since then vampires have been treated like literal shit. There was a man that promised to restore our honor and social class if we helped him with something. We never really met the guy we had only seen his reflection, but we jumped at the opportunity to leave the alleyway we lived in currently." Aquatica raised her sleeve and revealed a tattoo of a serpent engraved deep in her arm. "This is the seal he marks us with. I ask you please free us from him. He makes us do things I can't bare to relive. I've killed children for him and he still wants more from us. Please free us, if you can't free us all and you only save my brothers that's alright. I'll gladly be a sacrifice for their freedom."

Pisces felt pity for her and rested a hand on her head. He quickly drew back his hand when he received a small shock from their contact. "How do I know you are not trying to deceive me? You lied to me about your appearance and who you are."

"My name is Blast." Blast got down on her knees and browned before Pisces. "You don't have to believe anything that I told you but just please free my brothers. I'll even offer my freedom to you in exchange for their freedom."

"You act like a dog. Going from one master to another. How can you be so sure that I wouldn't do anything to hurt you?" Pisces put his hand under the waterfall and watched the burn slowly disappear.

"I know you won't because the boy I met yesterday was too kind to do something so underhanded." Pisces chuckled a little and splashed some water at her.

"Get up you fool. You look stupid down there on your knees. I'll help you free your family. However I require a payment for my services when my job is done. Until the day you are free you have my word I will do whatever I can to get them back safely. If you don't mind me asking what are their names?"

"We're triplets. Their names are Blaze and Blade."

Hello there everyone I'm back again but not for long. This is about to be a really crazy week for me so pray for me please. But here is the next chapter. Sorry it was so bad it not proofread or anything so if you see mistakes or anything please let me know. And if you have ideas or want to see something let me know. I have no idea what to write next and I will not know until maybe three months from now so don't be a silent reader please.
