Silence

Nothing could stop him now. He stood atop a hill glaring down at the four nations that took away his happiness. Odion threw his mother's severed head down the hill and watched it roll down the hill and into a lake. Before long the fifth nation would be restored and the thirteenth kingdom would thrive again.

A sweet tune flows through the trees and fills the small clearing. The flowers in the area dance with the music until the sound of hooves stilled their merriment. Sophia emerged from the thick covering the trees provided and smiled at the young man sitting on the stones beside a lake.

"You're back already? You just left not long ago. Did something happen?" The boy opened his gold eyes and watched as Sophia led the horse to the stream.

"I got expelled from the school. And everyone kept picking on me again. I didn't know where to go so I came back here. I hope you don't mind." Sophia sat in front of the stone the boy was perched on.

"I don't have a problem with that my dear. But you can't stay here. It's dangerous to be here by yourself. The forest says that a darkness follows you and is getting closer. I'm afraid that my home will be destroyed if you stay here." The boy stands up from his sitting position and looks down at her.

"Oh please not you too. I have nowhere else to go. I have no family, no friends, nothing. Please don't send me away." Sophia pleaded but sighed when his eyes hardened.

"Please do understand dear I love having you here with me, you're very good company but I just cannot allow my home to be destroyed." The boy looked at her with pity as tears fell from her eyes.

"Then can we at least say goodbye properly? I'm going to miss you."

"Anything for you love. Come here." The boy opened his arms and smiled as he pulled the girl into his arms. "Just remember that if anything happens I was always the one here for you."

A loud neighing brought the pair out of their little trance. Sophia looked over in time to see Ginger fall over with her eyes rolled back. "Ginger?! What happened? Sophia rushed over to her horse's side and knelt down feeling how cold she was.

The boy's golden eyes turned a deep black and he grew fangs instantly. "She's dead my dear. I tried to warn you. Now you must pay." The boy rushed to her with superhuman speed and roughly sank his fangs into her neck.

"Ow! Who are you? You're no-"

"Shhhh. Sleep time now. I'll see you again in a few hours." The boy lowered the girl to the ground after her eyes closed and pulled out a communication device that looked a lot like a playing card.

A pair of eyes showed appeared and glanced at the girl on the girl. "I hope she's not dead."

"No master. I drained her mana although with your permission I would love a taste of her blood." The boy licked his lips and glanced at the bite marks he left on the girl. "Pretty please."

"No. I need the body in one piece for this to work. Just bring her here. And good work Blaze." The eyes disappeared as the card blew away into the wind as dust.

Blaze sighed and suppressed his urge to feast as he carried off the unconscious girl with him. "I better get paid good for this." He jumped up into the trees and disappeared from the area altogether.

Five minutes a boy with gold eyes entered the clearing and looked around as if something was out of place. "Is that Ginger?" He walked over to the horse and felt her lifeless body before watching the spot he touched turn to ashes. "Ginger. Then does that mean something happened to my friend?"

The boy stood and backed away from the horse. "Ophiuchus! Ophiuchus! Ophiuchus! I guess we have a deal you bastard."

The smoke that filled her lungs burned but it burned with a satisfying heat. She stood leaning against the wall waiting for another customer to pay for her services. Looking this good everyday was starting to take a toll on her maybe after another three months she could retire in the lap of luxury but for now her customers come first. She threw down the finished cigarette and moved further under the street light where a car had parked looking her over.

"How much?" A gruff voice grunted.

"$250 an hour $300 if you want me to enjoy it too." The girl bit her lip and leaned down to rest her top half on the car's window. "$325 for extra services."

"Alright get in." The car door unlocked and the girl opened the door and sat down making herself slightly comfortable. She turned to see the face of her employer but came face to face with a police badge.

"Ah shit."

"You have a right to remain silent."

"Yeah, yeah I know. Let's just go." The girl put the seatbelt and let the undercover officer put the handcuffs on her. The car began moving and the girl glanced out the window watching street signs go by. Before long they pulled up to a dark and lonely street a little away from civilization. "Wait this isn't the station. Where are we?"

The officer got out of the car and walked over to her side of the car while putting on latex gloves. "I have to check the evidence Ms. I'm gonna need you to step out of the car."

The girl stared at the officer in horror as she realized his intentions. "I'll scream if you touch me. Get away from me you dirty bastard! Help me please!" The officer froze midway of reaching for her chest and the girl opened her eyes to see her surroundings change to a white background. "What the hell is this now?"

"Lilith? Are you alright?"

"God is that you?"

"No I am not God. I am a friend that can get you away from the scary man. I can give you whatever you want. All you have to do is come with me."

"How do I know you won't do what that man just tried to do?"

"Because my dear I could've stopped time and done so already but I haven't done anything to you. You can trust me. Just take my hand."

A hand slowly stretched out in front of her and Lilith reached out then hesitated. "Wait what's your name?"

"I am Ophiuchus dear. Now come to me. I'll keep you safe." With that he closed his hand around hers and pulled her into the shadows.
