Lies

Tobias' POV

A minute later an armed guard walks in and escorts me to a small room. The door is metal with a square at the top. Through it i see Caleb sitting on his bed reading a book. The guard opens the door and i clear my throat. Sitting next to him he tenses and puts the book down. "Tobias." "Caleb, look i'm not here to hurt you. I came to beg." He looks at me with suspicion. "What?" "I need you to lie. Tell them some random things, and we all get out of here. Then we leave. All of us." I whisper so the guards and the possible camera's don't hear. He takes in the information, and slowly nods."Ok. For Tris." I smile. "Thank you so much. And i promise that, if you agree to never and i mean EVER hurt her again. I'll try to get Natalie to come around" his eyes brighten a little. "This is more than i ever asked for. Where would we go" his Erudite shows. Always questioning things. "That's for me to worry about. Just get us out and I'll make sure we're all safe." i smile and walk back out the door. 

The rest of the day i spent in bed with Tris curled up on my chest. We watched Christina play with the kids. Natalie and Cara played with Princess out in the yard and Christina was singing itsy-bitsy-spider with Mason and Kayla. Tris is smiling but i know that there is pain behind those eyes. She wants to be there for the kids and she's stuck in this hospital. I could also see the same concerned face that i have when either of them cry. Being 7 months old now they are starting to teeth and are very fussy. Which i try to make up for by making silly faces. Natalie enjoys their presence too. She started playing peek-a-boo and other silly games with them. They also seem to be learning their names and responding. Every time Natalie would say Kayla she would giggle and smile. It was Tris' smile, i could tell. 

"Mr. and Mrs. Eaton, you are free to go home now." The doctor says. Tris looks at me and i pick her up knowing she is still in pain. After many years i've learned to live with it. I still feel horrible but will just carry her to the car. "Ready?" i ask putting her in the passengers seat. She smiles a grin a mile wide and nods.

"MOMMY DADDY!" i've missed her so much. Natalie charges out the door and into my arms. I don't want to let go but Tris opens the door. I pick her up and put her on the couch inside. "Natalie mommy is very hurt right now. So be careful ok?" i explained to  her. She nodded and hugged Tris cautiously. Then i see my son and pick him up. "Hey little man!" i smile and pick up Kayla. "I've missed you so much!" I smile. Christina and Cara go and make dinner leaving us with a little family reunion. My phone buzzes in my pocket and i pull it out. It's a picture from Zeke of a baby girl. I show it to Tris and she smiles "Baby Sophia" i say. "Tell them she's beautiful." she says. I nod and text back "Congrats man. She's beautiful"

"Natalie, i need to talk to you" it's a little after nine thirty and i'm tucking her into bed. She smiles and leans on her elbow. "Yes?" "It's about uncle Caleb." she loses the light in her eyes. "Why?" "He is going to be coming around again. I promise i won't let him hurt you, if he does he'll be in big trouble." she smiles at the thought. "Just give him a chance please? For daddy" i smile and she nods. Then yawns. She'll forget this by tomorrow night when Caleb gets out. I tuck her in and turn on her butterfly night light. "Daddy" she says groggily. "Yes Princess?" "Can you stay in here with me tonight?" i smile. "I've got one better" i go and scoop her up. When i get in my room Tris is reading something and looks up at me. She smiles and pats the bed next to her. I lay Natalie down and get in myself. "Mommy, Daddy, don't leave me again" she cried. Tris rolled to face me and Natalie. "Sweet heart, Mommy and Daddy put themselves in trouble a lot." She smirks and looks at me. I throw my hands up in mock surrender. "But i promise, we will always love you and always be there for you. Don't you worry about that" Natalie smiles and lays in between Tris' torso and arm. I wrap my arm around her waist and smile. "I love you two" I say closing my eyes. Before i drift off to sleep i hear them reply in unison "I love you too"
